Hi, I have made the custom css file and verified it talks to the site via the red background test.
Anyway, want to change the background in both the body, footer and the content area (the area where the text stuff goes on the index, about etc for continuity with the background for my other sites.
Here is what I am trying to do:
background: transparent url(images/filename.jpg) repeat;
I played/changed the background tag in the custom.css and that didn't change anything.
So I went into style-common.css and style-component.css and changed some background color tags just to play around and see if that would work. Anyway, no go on any account.
So, can someone point me in the right direction about exactly which file and css tag to target to get the body, the content text area and the footer to be the image background.
The image is uploaded to the images folder. Thank you in advance, Em ems-gallery
ALSO: I just tried to add a .png to the about page from using "pages". In LR the photo is .png but when exported it went .jpg?
When I noticed it, I edited the about.php to change it to .png and uploaded the respective .png file to the photos directory, the same place as the .jpg file. But when I refreshed the page there was NO image. Only when i put it to .jpg would the image show up. Why would that happen. My masthead is .png and that shows up so I am puzzles what could be the answer. Thanks again.

It was not created through publisher. I thought I was loosing my mind since all the program setup seemed solid.

Deep breath and clear our heads and start fresh here.
OK, I have re-installed everything I could think of to get the search working. Created a new/fresh template. Let me step off what I did because while I think I solved the problem about not getting to input data into the search box we talked about? I still don't get any results and I know my metadata has been filled out. You can even go to the gallery page by accessing it via the index on the gallery page and see that the title and caption show up on the individual gallery images. Thats a start anyway but don't know if it has anything to do with the search results.
A) In Library of LR under metadata I have the Title and the Caption populated with information for each image in the gallery on the site.
B) I used the "gallery" ttg engine in the web module to create the search template and exported/ftp to the correct location per wiki to ttg-be>templates>gallery>my-search-template as can be seen on the search page from the link on my site.
C) Before I exported that template I made sure in the "Image info" that Title, Caption, Metadate1 (set for Title) and Metadate2 (set for caption) is checked.
D) In the "output settings" under "publisher setup" the Metadata Outlets show Title {Title}, Caption {Caption}, Metadata 1 {Title}, Metadata 2 {Caption} and also the cart items are filled out with the title and caption stuff, but I am not using that but wouldn't think that effects anything since I don't see a way to turn it off.
I just don't get why nothing shows up in results when I search on a word I know is in the title or the caption? You can see the title and caption words used when you look at the gallery images after clicking on the album.
Do you see any holes here or something I am missing. Do you get to put your cursor in the search box now where before you couldn't.

Can you tell me if that is set in the "library" LR section or in the web portion of LR in the ttg gallery module.
Also, it is weird. On one browser I can put my cursor in the search box and type. And when I tried another one I couldn't even get the serach box to engage. Can I impose upon you to go to the site and the search page and sort of give me a check on what you see?
You must have patience of steel to put up with my quetions:-) and I truly appreciate all your help.
ETA" I am looking at the LR Library section - "metadata" area and I see a "title" and a Caption field. Is that what you are talking about. If so, I did/do have date in those fields. Some of the works include flowers bloom leaf etc but when I try that in search nothing comes up.
And in the LR Library Keywords list I have florals, flowers
I am not finding a metadata field in the web module for the ttg gallery?

OK, I read that article and it doesn't really explain: Do I check all the items in that section in the "image Info" pane of the web area for the gallery?
Then on the right where they all say "custom settings" do I do anything. Do I click "edit" instead of leaving it on the term custom settings.
I checked the "metadata 1" and the metadata 2" but is that the answer to the question? Do I "edit" that and insert keyword. It would seem to be global for the whole album rather than specific to each image in the gallery.
So I guess I am still looking for some input. Thanks.

I found the ce3 doc and was just about to create a custom css and dynamic masthead in the phplugins per that article but checked here first.
Glad I did since I am now totally unsure about what to do.
What I am trying to accomplish is to have a 300 px graphic masthead/image (instead of my large on responding down) on the smallest viewport because otherwise there is a very big gap between the top of the page to the masthead, and the bottom of the masthead to the nav menu. Takes up a whole lot of real estate on the small screen.
if not so, or in the meantime, can I go into some css somewhere and simply change the image or add css to change the image that was and hide the large one.
Workaround or tutorial about how to do this. Thank you in advance:-)
Side Q: in general if I chage something in the css (only talking visual stuff, for example padding etc. can I do that without breaking the whole site if not using a custome css because I don't know how to integrate that idea and there are a few little css layouts I would like to modify. I understand that if/when I re-upload site files it will overwrite any mods/changes made.

Search Q.
I have some draft pics on the site and (yeah) it all seems to be mostly working. I have a gallery index and gallery page now.
My Question: when I go to the search page and input a word to search that I know is part of the Album name or description nothing comes up. I just get a no albums... or no images.... matched your search.
Where does the search function pull the words from to match and show some results. I must be missing something.
I also put in a title and caption on each image in the "Library" of LR too and tried that in case that is where the search draws from.

You will see when you click on the nav links all of them go to a page except for the "stage-vids" links. In the pages section I have the stage-vid nav verbiage set for page "stage" in that setup area for stuff like home, about, contact etc.
But when I upload the "pages" export it includes the about, contact, index pages, but not the gallery, search and stage pages. I did the gallery and the search some other way. But since it was a week or two ago I forgot what I did.
Anyway, I want a stage page that at the end of the day will look like this http://ce4.theturninggate.net/demos/ce4-stage/ with the three columns setup.
For my gallery page I set it up to look like this http://terrywhitephotography.com/galleries.php although I have not populated it with any galleries yet. Another day another thing to figure out.
Anyway, my goal for now is to have at least a page show up when I click the stage-vid link. So what I am trying to figure out is how to get the stage page on my web (similar to how I have the gallery page on the web) even though it doesn't have any galleriy items on the page yet.
When I selected the "stage" module in LR and exported it... similar to the function for exporting from the "page" function. and then uploaded the stage export (like I do for the page export) it broke the site. What I mean is when I accessed the site it threw up a bunch of error jibber. The stage preset in LR is not the same right now as the pages preset. For whatever that's worth...
So, my mental gap is specifically how/what/where to get/generate the "stage" page that will appear when I click the nav link and be the page that will be populated with the stage gallery stuff as per the stage demo 3 column layout linked above. I assume I set the stage layout in the stage module... but still not clear on the how to get a page on the web.
Do I simply:
hack the page template to the stage template/preset.
Then generate the stage export to get a stage.php page and ONLY upload that page so as not to cause a sitewide error.
or???
Sorry I don't know how to explain it better. Hard to ask/explain when I don't know what I am talking about in how to do it.

ETA: I stand corrected. Looking at the Export pages section in the pages output settings I see I have galleries checked. But I don't see "stage" as an option to check in that section. And search was done through the ttg-be.

Hi, Not sure how to ask but here goes.
I have all my pages, whew, except "stage" linked in the menus now. "pages" does a good job for the core pages easy. I reacall doing some dances for the gallery page and the search page.
Perhaps my head has turned to mush, but I can't seem to find where specifically it talkes about making and/or populating the stage page. I found the information about its abilities, but not about how to actually create/upload the page.
I did go into LR - into the stage module - and save the preset so it will show up in the engine. I also exported "stage" and uploaded ALL its generated files to my site. But in doing that it broke the site and still didn't put up the stage page for my menu link.
So where can I find a step by step or other info to get my head around this.
I finally have my "pages" preset/template done and thinking its time to hack that to the gallery and search templates.
Do I do that too for stage. And then what file do I upload to the web site. Evidentally??? I don't export the stage module and upload all the generated files do I? Since doing that before broke down the site...

Hi, I am wanting to have the "show info on load" turned on so it is always there. BUT, it eats into the lower part of the image rather than sitting below the image. I have this on the index.asp page - a galleria slideshow there.
I don't want to have the image cut off like that. So...
How do I make the overlay for the info/show counter area reside just below the image?
Please say it is possible"-)
This is really important to me so if I can't lower it in LR, can I do something directly in CSS that would lower the overlay down without breaking the site. I wouldn't think the page components are tied to a specific line, but then again I am new to php stuff so who knows. I am only talking css type stuff, I would never touch the code/scripts type stuff as I no nothing there...

Hi Rod, I think you may be on target with the images in gallery comments. I will check that out. I do think I only added the one now that you talk about that subject.
In regard to the web fonts not appearing properly. Can you expound a little more. I checked on many different browsers and several systems and I am not seeing anything weird, so not exactly sure what to be looking for.
I did/do have "get shared resources from ttg ce4 pages checked. Should I have that checked. I read about it but wasn't clear if I should. And yes, these php pages are on a site with other .html pages and css so perhaps I am not seeing something that is caused by that in some situations I am not aware of yet. I think when I go 'Live" to the public I will only have the ttg pages and all my other ones will be gone. I started the site idea before I came upon the ttg idea modules so decided in mid-stream to go in that direction.

BACK AGAIN...
OK, I have made the gallery per the galleria slideshow setup in the pages module and uploaded/export to the site.
However, when I view the site the slideshow (put on the index.php page) is static. It does not move, allow any click or other functionality. My settings all look good and it should function.
I think I am missing something.
I only uploaded the "pages" pages on export. Do I also need to upload something else? I was assuming that since the galleria settings for the index.php page was set in the "pages" module that would do it...
Anyway, thoughts. Do I need to do something more. For example export the "gallery" module or make some change or update there too?
Confused again, but that isn't hard to do:-)

Hi, another newbie Q and I can't seem to pinpoint where to get instructions...
I see in the demo stores on the TTG site most all of them have an auto play slide gallery of images on the home index.php page.
I am confused. Is that something that is part of the pages module and I simply select the images and check some boxes in the page setup in lightroom. OR ???
I guess what I am asking is am clueless about where to start in this regard. Don't know if it is already in TTG or if I need to get a third party program and figure out how to have it integrate with TTG.
I have your full bundle of modules... I see some sort of slideshow thing in the stages example page, but that is not what the index.php slides look like, unless the index.php is a modification based on the galleria slideshow in stage???

Q. BUT in ce4 I couldn't find any /api/ directory anywhere in the publisher directory. SO, how do I set a password for LR to communicate on the upload with publisher?
A. You do it in the Publisher settings online via ttg-be. Log into your ttg-be, go to the Dashboard drop down: Publisher Admin. Click on the Publisher Settings link. Then click Edit Settings. You'll find the API stuff under "Other"

So, I am now at setting up publisher. Right now it lives at
mysite.com/ttg-be/publisher
I guess that is right? Well my ttg-be admin and the publisher setting in there all work fine and my login with my password all work fine. I set up a search page and that shows up on the site...
I installed the LR plugin and such according to instructions and Think that is all fine. I know I have a 5.4x version of .php so that should be fine.
But I can't get publisher to authenticate in LR.

I found this for ce3:
Set a strong password by editing the file publisher/api/config.php and changing the API_KEY setting from 'ttg8888' to your own. For example, to change to 'apple12' (please don't use this specific password!), the top lines of config.php would look like:

Hi, Getting ce4 going and I may be asking more Qs along the way.
1) How do I move the "share" section to the footer. Right now it is just under the main top nav menu/links where the default puts it. I only want to use the ones where others can share and not the ones where I provide links to my own sharing. Anyway, I don't like them up top and so stated on the page. So please, can I move them?
2) Can I just go into the page/s and move a div section to the footer with a text editor. Reading the .php plugin "hooks" documentation it sounds like I can't just go into a .php web page (for example "about", etc) and just move or add html or divs around? I did check the use phplugins.
3) If I go turn Off the phplugins what would happen. What I mean is will the program then generat .html pages and not .php pages. I was confused about this. Somewhere I think I read that enabling phplugins would make the web pages be .php. But wasn't clear if they would be .html or could be .html otherwise?
4) Just learning about "Markdown"? I am versed in html, so for doing custom appearance for example in my description area I think I read it will allow html or markdown? Any real benefit or need for me to learn how to use markdown at this point for minor html tweeks?
I am still figuring our how to make an album now, but will leave those possible Qs for another time. I do have the pages, gallery, and search at least working.

Can you add buy button to video if someone wants to purchase a little video snippet. Sort of like they have on the stock video sites?

One more Q: I was looking at the demo that has the cart integrated and see for example the product "print' with sizes/prices...
Can I set up the cart so that the image product = "print and/or tangible item" and then the options as:
"Size " tag in the demo - Can I change that tag to say for example "Options"
image print size xxxx $1
image print size xxx $2
tangible item xxxx $14
Basically, wondering if I can change the tags to customize. The overview info seemed to sound like one can do a lot of custom stuff if they know html/css? is that a correct assumtion. I assume so but thought I would ask. Thanks.
Hi, I am looking at the publishing bundle and cart.
I have several income streams. Tangible goods we sell and pack from our own headquarters. I also want to add download and photo/video purchases to the site - hence why checking this out.
I have also been looking at the ability for Fotomoto to integrate with theturninggate.
So:
1) Can I use Fotomoto shopping cart/features AND also use theturninggate cart. Can both carts be used on the same image or would I need to have separate galleries?
For example:
There may be a photo I offer for download via the ttg cart...
and, want to offer the same photo using fotomoto so a customer could get a greeting card or poster if desired. (We don't do in-house framing and professional printing for example).
also, since some photos are of products we sell and ship in-house, I would also like to offer the ability to buy the product shown in the image using the ttg cart.
Can I do all of this? (ttg cart for download, ttg cart for tangible items and fotomoto option for images) and if so, can I do it on the image level (having the ttg cart function on one icon and the fotomoto function on another icon. I am sure I can create separate icon images to reflect a difference for the two carts since if I understand right, the ttg cart I would receive the funds in-house and fotomoto purchases the fund go to them first - is that correct?
Or would I have to have different galleries to accomplish this and hence - creating double the work in some cases.
I may not be asking this correctly since I have only been reading about it now, but hopefully you will know what I am getting at and give me some words of wisdom about if, and or in a nutshell, how I would do this.
I am fairly well versed in html and css but not a hard-core programmer, so mild tweaks are workable.
