#2 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Custom cover image in album in lightroom publisher » 2020-04-30 22:44:24

I'd try clearing the template cache... it's an option in Backlight admin and seemed to help me when I had a similar problem.

I was looking in admin to do the update and didn't see Version 3 show up as available after I paid.  So I looked around and it seems that I may have a different email connected with my account with you than the one I used to pay via Paypal.  How do I get that corrected?

Account I received my upgrade email at [redacted], Paypal I paid with [redacted].

#4 Re: Backlight Support » Gallery Set Hierarchy match Folder Hierarchy in Catalog? » 2017-10-08 11:12:05

Ok, Thanks.

I'm just trying to work through the mental process of the transition and how to adjust a significant amount of my workflow.  I have a hard time trusting all the "features" in Lightroom (I just don't trust in the longevity of software) so looking for a balance in my old and this new way of doing things.  The collections I'm talking about is not my entire library but the directory structure of Gallery only images I've built over the last 15 years... one that was business oriented an other that is more personally oriented.  But even then they are both in the tens of thousands of images.

I'm sure I'll figure something out... there are lots of options.  Problem is I'm not doing much these days.. just trying to get away from some old Flash stuff that was just dying so this is sort of a back burner project I'm just trying to get mostly framed up ASAP because I don't have much time.

Thanks for all your help.

#5 Re: Backlight Support » Gallery Set Hierarchy match Folder Hierarchy in Catalog? » 2017-10-07 22:45:13

Any chance something like that is in the works?

I understand those who start here won't have an issue as doing things the way I did previously is less effecient that using the real power of Lightroom organization... but I'm trying to consider how to move from previous systems to the new system and having to setup everything from scratch seems like it will be rather painful.

Any way to edit configs somewhere to create the Album Set structure?

Is there a way to have the Gallery/Gallery Set hierarchy automatically match the folder hierarchy that is in a collection?  Just point a Gallery at the top level and have it publish everything underneath?

#8 Re: Backlight Support » Lightroom Catalog Question... » 2017-10-07 04:31:51

I did try the plug-in... more just to know what options in might provide in the future than anything.

It seemed to work fairly well overall... I haven't tried publishing with one of the migrated galleries yet but everything looks good.

I found a way to merge catalogs is there a way to get the Album Settings for Publisher from one to the other?

#11 Re: Backlight Support » Lightroom Catalog Question... » 2017-10-05 20:41:42

Thanks for the reply... trying to get things going in a limited time frame and I just jumped on something I saw someone else say or post somewhere in my searches... I think I'll revert to a single Catalog.

#12 Re: Backlight Support » Gallery Size on Website » 2017-10-05 20:40:15

Ok, got it... was expecting to see them on the Lightroom side of things.  wink

In my previous solution the images from my source folders were resized as part of the gallery create process... does the TTG Publisher do that or should I expect my Online Galleries to be the same size on disk as the source?

Definitely requires some play time.  wink  Thanks for the help.

I'm fairly new to Lightroom, finally switching over from Bibble/Aftershot and so that's part of what's brought me here.  One of the things I've been considering is how to Organize things and I've started of thinking I should create a Catalog for each year.... any comments on that?  In particular how would that impact my Backlight Galleries... I just realized that they are tied to a particular Catalog... I'm wondering if I should create a specific Backlight Catalog to do all my publishing from... maybe Export my images that I want in Galleries to a particular file structure and then just reference that in my Backlight Catalog... I'd appreciate any thoughts along this line before I go to far and have to re-do a bunch.  I already have a large set of galleries that are in an independent (of my RAWs and working sets) "web sharing" folder structure that I used for my previous gallery generator.

Ok... that helps greatly... understanding that you need multiple columns to see the trays helps.  I was thinking up down not left right.  wink

Is there a place I should be reading or searching to find out the definition of something like...

Tray 01 Copy vs 02?

or

Where exactly the Top Pallet Title is...

and similar other things that I can make a decent guess about but seems like there might be a better source of info than guess and check.

I like that as well... both of you have very well designed sites.  Thanks for sharing.

#19 Re: CE4 Client Response Gallery » Client Response... » 2017-10-05 05:21:29

Backlight + Pages x 1
Backlight Add-on: Client Response x 1

So the receipt does refer to it as a Backlight Add-on... I guess the confusing thing here on the forum is that there is not a specific place for that listed unlike it is for CE4.  Starting out it wasn't clear what the difference between CE4 and Backlight were... it's starting to become clearer now.  Thanks for your patience.

#20 Re: Backlight Support » Slideshow on Home Page » 2017-10-04 03:56:11

Daniel... love the look and feel of your site.  Is that all done with Backlight?

#21 Re: CE4 Client Response Gallery » Client Response... » 2017-10-04 03:55:09

Ok, will do, can you help me understand the client response thing... did I buy an old version that will change?  Is that feature now built into Backlight or is it moving to Backlight in the future?

#22 Re: Backlight Support » Slideshow on Home Page » 2017-10-04 03:50:24

Thanks, I'll check those out.  As a newbie sometimes it's hard to know where a particular feature you see is coming from... pre-backlight, backlight, add-on, etc.... and then further all the particular customization in each location.  But help like this is well... very helpful. wink

#23 Re: Backlight Support » Slideshow on Home Page » 2017-10-04 03:23:56

Thanks for that option as well... I'll need to see some examples of what that add-on can do before purchasing... things are shaping up well for my current needs at this time.

Thanks again for the quick responses.

I'm pretty sure is Backlight, I do use Lightroom, I did purchase the Client Response module.
