Slideshow on Home Page

Any suggestions on a good way to add a automatic slideshow beneath the welcome text on the home page?

Create an album of the images you want, make it hidden and upload it. Then create a home page using a template and under backlight > designer >pages you can insert the album in your home page.

Thanks for the response... I was headed in that direction. Do you know if there is a way to have is start as a slideshow rather than thumbnails? I'm not thinking a full screen slideshow but one that is constrained/embedded.

I forgot to mention you will need the theater addon to create the slide show template.

As Charlie said, use the Theater add-on. Choose the Vegas inline slideshow option.

Thanks for that option as well... I'll need to see some examples of what that add-on can do before purchasing... things are shaping up well for my current needs at this time.

There are several user examples at http://community.theturninggate.net/viewforum.php?id=40 that have the slideshow on their home page. One of them is mine.

Some of them are regular Backlight albums, but there are also several Theater albums

Thanks, I'll check those out. As a newbie sometimes it's hard to know where a particular feature you see is coming from... pre-backlight, backlight, add-on, etc.... and then further all the particular customization in each location. But help like this is well... very helpful.

Mine had a very simple slideshow on the home page. You can also use theater for YouTube, Vimeo and html5 video.

Thanks! Yes, all Backlight with a decent sized serving of CSS and phplugins.
