Very Nice Philippe,

I like the Squares as well and use them for links.

Your images fit very well into your design, less is more....

Hi Guys,

forgive me if this has been discussed before, but I have not found the thread...

I seem to be getting a lot of mail supposedly from my Contact Form (same headers Subject Line and mail box id etc.) sent by Russian spammers.

What would be the best way to provide two level protection for this if it is a robot, or alternative solutions Other than just hunting them down, finding them and..... well you know smile

I have not had this problem until the last couple of months, so a little distressing.....

#32 Re: Backlight Support » Best UK Hosting for Backlight? » 2016-12-14 00:52:11

Hi Mike,

I have their shared hosting service. Yes you do have to call the USA. I have only had to speak to them a couple of times and they were excellent on each occasion. I paid in Dollars but it was before Brexit......

#33 Re: Backlight Support » Best UK Hosting for Backlight? » 2016-12-12 22:39:34

Hi Mike,

I live in the UK, I use Bluehost and have done for the last three years. I have had no problems at all with their hosting. It's a good price and you get a lot for your money.

Very Sorry Deirdre,

Completely missed your comment.

I do use the Backlight Wordpress Plugin, however his has no bearing on my homepage. The recent posts section on the home page uses code to pull the latest two posts directly from my blog. The code is just HMTL and a couple of Wordpress Hooks and a little CSS. It automatically updates when I add a new post.

#36 Re: Backlight Support » Pages problem » 2016-11-03 23:44:41

Hi Ben,

I'm on Bluehost also with 5.6 and IonCube checked. No worries for me either.

#38 Re: Backlight Support » Update info required from suspect email » 2016-10-15 17:33:00

Hi Paul,

Send Owl is the way that TTG distributes it's updates and fixes for us to download.

You should have had an email from TTG pointing to the TTG Blog which tells you about the changes, along with the email from Send Owl. The Link in the send Owl email is personalised so that you only get access to the updates for the product(s) you have purchased.

Hi Guys,

I've given my old CE4 site a real going over and I'm pretty pleased with the result. smile

I've used Backlight + Pages, Theatre, Client Response, the Wordpress Theme and a bit of custom work on the home page. I've tried to achieve a really clean look so my pictures take centre stage.

Thanks to Matt, Ben and the team for help, suggestions and some raised eyebrows in the process.

Any comments, criticism, suggestions gratefully received.

#42 Re: Backlight Support » [FIXED] How to fix the sub menu / drop down? » 2016-10-12 01:14:07

Hi Christopher,

Looks like you have your primary-menu line height set here to 12px

.primary-menu {
    border-top: 0px solid black;
    border-bottom: 0px solid black;
    line-height: 12px;
    padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px;

}

But you also have a line height of 44px set for the nav which I think is set in Backlight.

nav a, nav span {
    height: 44px;
    line-height: 44px;
}

I believe that the span element is pushing your drop down away from the rest of the menu.

Try setting the height of your navigation in Backlight to 12px

Hi Christopher,

Can you post a link to your site please, then we can get a look at what is happening?

#44 Re: Backlight Support » Problem with latest Backlight update » 2016-10-09 15:47:18

My Pennies Worth,

In my (maybe limited) experience in the IT Industry, my friends in the UK agree that in their Companies (and at ours) they are sticking with windows 7 for now. Usage of IE is very small and only where applications dictate IE. I don't have statistics from them, just anecdotal information, but in a straw poll at work with my 150 users; No IE users, 4 Safari, 104 Firefox, 25 Chrome, remainder split usage Firefox and Chrome on the same PC.

#46 Re: Backlight Support » Is it possible to have an in-line Theater on the Home Page? » 2016-10-07 19:24:37

Yep, it is possible!

I have an in-line Theater slide show on my home page here: http://jonevans.photography

First, create an album template in backlight for your Theater images. Then, in Lightroom, create an album and place the images you want to show in it. Make sure that you hide the album from search and breadcrumbs and that you select the album template you created in 1 above. It's a good idea to make your images all the same size (6x4, 2x1 etc.) and select the correct  image ratio in your Theater setup. Then publish your images.
Lastly go back to lightroom and open your home page template and add your album.

Hi Matt,

That is excellent thank you. I've read a mess of reviews but not of these. I'll check them out and see where it gets me...

I'm making a Rod (sic) for my own back as this will allow my users to raise issues for me to fix yikes

Hello Chaps,

Left field question here. I have been asked to create a Forum at work. What product and on what platform do you guys suggest I should use?

This would not be published outside of our firewall (probably) and it would be a general helpdesk type situation. Suggestions of freeware / open source would be a bonus.

#50 Re: Backlight Support » a request for 'current image posts' » 2016-09-13 21:23:15

Hi Gary,

I have featured galleries and blog posts on my home page here: http://jonevans.photography. the coding is placed in the page copy.

Is this the kind of thing that you mean?
