Looking to migrate my hosting from GoDaddy. Pretty much exhausted all the options to correct the upload issues I'm experiencing. I know Bluehost is a favorite here, but have Backlight users had good luck with other hosting services? A2 seems to get good reviews for page load speeds and quality of support. Anyone have experience with them or have another recommendation?

Thanks Mark. I'll give In Motion a good look.

I migrated my hosting to In Motion. Went very smoothly. Tech support was very knowledgeable and helpful. The move appears to have resolved my upload issues with GoDaddy.

That's good news! Glad to hear the migration went well, and that we've gotten another customer away from GoDaddy. ;-)

I'm happy with one.com .

http://Bluehost.com provided me with unbelievable support. When I was having the issues with slow pageload times, they worked for hours with me to help resolve the problem (which didn't turn out to be theirs). But they stuck with me.

Hi Gary, I'd put that one on Bluehost. They have set up a platform that provides insufficient performance with the software they purport to support, and threw it back as an application issue. It should be on them to compile in the necessary options for their environment.

Thank you Ben, I know you did the work that solved the problem. Do I need to say something to Bluehost?
And what would I tell them??
I am certainly willing to go at them if I have the ammunition...

Hi Gary, I would let sleeping dogs like on this one. A while ago Bluehost automatically upgraded all accounts to PHP 5.6 Beta (Beta being Bluehost's designation of their PHP support), which dropped SQLite support. They re-enabled SQLite after we explained how important it was for our customers. That indicates to me that SQLite is not high on their priorities. So I'd be hesitant on pointing out the performance issues on their setup lest their solution is to pull support for SQLite entirely.
We have an application workaround that looks to be working well. I'm considering changing those settings to the default so that users won't need to change the setting.

Hope they don't pull SQLite Ben, I have a lot of stuff with Bluehost

Hi Jon, I didn't mean to scare you with that post! We recommend Bluehost, so also very much hope that support is maintained. It is promising that they quickly restored SQLite in their Beta process after our request.
SQLite is a standard PHP module, so hosts do need to go to effort to withdraw support. If I recall correctly, with all of the hosts that we've encountered via customer support, only one did not and would not provide SQLite support.

I run several Backlight based sites as well as one CE3 site and one CE4 site on several shared servers (two accounts due to client preferences - they could all run under one account) at HostGator and have not had issues. Support is good when I need it, and pricing for new accounts is competitive.
