#151 Re: CE4 Publisher » Photo in Stage "gallery" not being copied » 2014-08-22 00:04:45

I guess this is not always the desired behaviour. You might want to use the same template with completely different photos. The file from template/photos will not be fitting in that context.

#152 Re: CE4 Pages » Two Galleries pages-same Content/description area ( Solved ) » 2014-08-21 23:14:11

Do You have/use CE4 Autoindex? If You want two pages which both behave like the "Galleries" page You might try this:

  • Build an Autoindex page with CE4 Autoindex that shares settings with CE4 Pages and upload it to -- let's call it -- "galleries2/" on the server.

  • If You want to publish to it with publisher, set up a second publisher instance with Lightroom's plugin manger and set the gallery home setting to galleries2. Give it a name that helps You to

  • not mix up the different publisher services, but always choose the right publisher service to publish into the right branch.
Set up a navigation item in CE4 Pages that points to galleries2/

I haven't tried this yet, but I see no reasons why it shouldn't work.

#153 Re: CE4 Publisher » Breadcrumbs text » 2014-08-21 21:38:44

Hi Volker,

I assume Your "galleries" directory is not an output of a standalone autoindex but from CE4 Pages.
I also missed uploading that file gallery.xml first (not to be confused with galleries.xml).
This happened because normally when I export a new output from my Pages Plugin, I want to preserve the existing galleries folder on the server from being changed accidentally.

Just enter the directory /whereever_I_saved_my_export/galleries/ and upload the gallery.xml file to the galleries directory on the server.

If You want to chance the name by which the page is shown in the breadcrumbs trail, You can edit that file.
There is an entry "CNAME" followed by a string.

Viel Erfolg,
Michael

#154 Re: CE4 Pages » galleries in breadcrumbs not showing - solved » 2014-08-17 20:56:56

I just had the same problem and found the solution here. So thank You for posting it.

I would find it consitent and useful for visitors if galleries.php would also provide breadcrumbs.
Have I missed an option in the CE4 Pages plugin?

Cheers, Michael

#155 Re: CE4 Publisher » Q: Using Publisher across different Lightroom Catalogs » 2014-08-16 15:09:28

Some time ago Matthew recommended a LR helper plugin that facilitates moving things from one LR catalogue to another. I don't remember its name, but perhaps it can help You moving things into a publishing catalogue without having to alter Your workflow to much. Its name had to do with star trek I believe ...

#156 Re: CE4 Publisher » Q: Using Publisher across different Lightroom Catalogs » 2014-08-16 15:02:02

One gallery -- one catalogue.
I have no trouble feeding one publisher installation on the server from two catalogues but this works only in branches that cannot be mixed.
I have one top level autoindex (CE4 Pages' galleries/index.php). In both catalogues there is a publisher service with "Top-level galleries directory" set to "galleries".
From both LR catalogues I can publish album sets and albums into that galleries folder, but the publisher service in catalogue A is not aware of anything that has been published into there by the publisher service in catalogue B.
You may even try to create an album set from one catalogue and set the resulting directory on the server as Top-level in another catalogue's publisher service. But You must always keep in mind what You're doing. As far as I know it's undocumented.

#157 Re: PHPlugins (CE4) » Global Cookie Control » 2014-08-16 10:13:20

dl: As I understand it this would spare to load the custom css via phplugins.

I put the call of custom css back between comments and it still works.

One thing I missed was to switch off the cookie bar in the plugin settings entirely to have only one instance appear via phplugins.
Then I set "show_once_yn":false for a change also. The show-again-tab will reappear as long as I stay on one page, but when i change page or reload it will vanish and the info bar will not appear again until i flush my browser cache.

This comes close to what I imagined.

Thank You all.
Michael

#158 Re: PHPlugins (CE4) » Global Cookie Control » 2014-08-16 09:25:16

Hi all,
I have setup PHPlugins and custom CSS now and the bar appears on all my pages.
I would like to switch off the show-again-tab, but this is harder than it seems, the settings I saved in the settings page of CLI in WP seem to interfere with those in PHPlugins.php.
I thought changing to "showagain_tab":false in phplugins and deselecting "Use Show Again Tab?" in the CLI settings would do, but it doesn't.
Is there another change I must make to phplugins.php?

Regards,
Michael

Hi Tom,

stained glass, translucency and Yves-Klein-Blue were my instant associations.

My site has just shifted to CE4. You can see it at http://fotos.michilge.de/blog/
I have decided to print my masthead image on cards. The image integrates a functioning QR-Code which will lead to my Site if scanned with a smartphone. It was tricky to create.
My site is rather eclectic, mostly live football photos of our local team.
It's fun not profession.
As You plan a writeup of Your experience I will gladly postpone work on PHPlugins to value Your effort best (and hopfully save some puzzle too). :-)

And yes. I like the friendlness an helpfulness in this forum too.

Cheers,
Michael

#160 Re: PHPlugins (CE4) » Global Cookie Control » 2014-08-15 19:41:21

Hi Tom,

Thank You for sharing Your solution.
I just tripped over the words "but you can opt-out if you wish" in the text.
Inspired by Your topic I installed the cookie-law-info plugin.

Since I have visitor tracking on my pages, I feel particularly responible to offer an opt out possibility.

I have left the standard "Accept" Button to express consent in combination with a link to my disclaimer where I point out that my pages will respect do-not-track settings of visiting browsers and additionally offer a link to a page where users can actively opt out of tracking, while other cookies remain consented.

Next step is to read and understand the way, You already went, to make the infobar on the CE4 Pages outside WP.

BTW: Beautiful foto on Your entry page. I love that stunning blue.

Regards,
Michael

Hello Tom,

I'm following this thread and I plan to add a similar cookie/privacy info to my site to.
What puzzles me, is that the banner at the bottom of the page tells that there is a way to opt out, but I can't find this option on Your Cookies-page. Is this still in progress?

Which of the various WP cookie plugins is the one You installed. Richard Ashby's?

Best wishes,
Michael

#162 Re: CE4 Theme for WordPress » Solved -- Highslide relies on mobble plugin to work in post gallery » 2014-08-10 16:49:22

Me too.
Having Single Post Template and Subheading activated since CE3 I simply went over the plugin chapter and so missed the information that CE4 relies on mobble.

Sorry for taking Your time.
I changed the topic of this thread to help spread the info.

Thanks and fine sunday,
Michael

#163 Re: CE4 Theme for WordPress » Solved -- Highslide relies on mobble plugin to work in post gallery » 2014-08-10 07:21:47

I even created a new theme from scratch.

Switched to one of LRs html templates, chose CE 4 Theme for Wordpress from the list of layouts, left everything at default apart from highslide presentation for post galleries, saved a new template, exported, uploaded, changed theme options, saved and no highslide in my page.

Output of my phpinfo() is here

#164 Re: CE4 Theme for WordPress » Solved -- Highslide relies on mobble plugin to work in post gallery » 2014-08-10 05:40:02

Well. Yes.

http://www.michilge.de/extfiles/screen-1.jpg

I switched back to WP's default theme,
removed the CE4 theme Directory,
renamed die Template in LR to a name without spaces,
made sure highslide is checked in my Post Gallery Setup,
exported to a new directory without spaces,
uploaded that to /wp-content/themes/,
made sure that highslide.js is in /lib/js/ within the theme directory,
adjusted and saved the settings,
deactivated all plugins again

and still don't find highslide on my page

In firebug I really can't find a trace of it in the browser.

I'm going to start over once again.

#165 Re: CE4 Theme for WordPress » Solved -- Highslide relies on mobble plugin to work in post gallery » 2014-08-09 19:09:40

Hmm, I have tried different combinations of plugins and ended up with everything deactivated right now.
Still no Highslide in in-post galleries.

I leave my plugins turned off for a while, perhaps You can circle the error in?

Thanks, Michael

For a reason I didn't find out yet highslide does not work in an in-post-gallery.

In LR I selected "Presentation : Desktop = Highslide slideshow" in the Post Gellery Setup section and also agreed to the license. In the preview area the highslide lightbox appears when I click on on of the thumbnails.

After uploading i went to the advanced settings tab of the theme options and activated lightbox support an selected Highslide JS for Desktop Browsers and magnific for mobile browsers.
I left Galleria support unchecked.

In the post gallery I tried both "link" and "attachment page"

When I click on oneof the thumbnails in the gallery, the large picture appears on a separate page.

You can find an example here:

Ideas welcome,
but first best wishes for a fine weekend,
Michael

Hello,

based on the translation for CE3 Theme for Wordpress I prepared translation files for German for CE4.
Grab them at http://www.michilge.de/extfiles/ce4_wp_302/de_DE.po and http://www.michilge.de/extfiles/ce4_wp_302/de_DE.mo
Then create a directory "lang" in the theme directory on the server and put them there.
I appreciate feedback and suggestions as I am not yet lucky with everything.
Especially if someone has an idea how to say "masthead" in German, please hint me.

Cheeers, Michael

#168 Re: General » Which Template to update » 2014-08-06 14:12:00

Oh. That's a pity.

OT: Perhaps that will change on the same day LR will learn to cut a 1:1 crop of given dimensions ...

I sometimes loose track of which template I have been editing and which is the one to update settings for.
I regard this a flaw in LR, because in the template list on the left the highlight of the last choice disappears. But it would be helpful to have the name of the template displayed in the site info e.g. together with the plugin version.

Just an idea.
Best wishes,
Michael

Future feature or feature future, anyway, take a breath and all the time it takes. Just thought I missed an option that was moved or so.

In CE3 Theme for WP I liked that presentation of featured posts on the top of the blog home. I can't find that setting in CE4 any longer. Has it been abandoned?

#172 Re: PHPlugins (CE4) » Site-wide Navigation -- which css? » 2014-07-31 05:35:30

You are both perfectly right. I had tomatos on my eyes and did not notice that the additional settings appeared when I checked the multi-level-navigation. When I checked multi, I expected the additional options to appear right below that box. But that checkbox was not far from the bottom of my screen and I had to scroll down to the next section. Some hours of sleep helped reading Your answers more thoroughly.

Thank You.

#173 Re: PHPlugins (CE4) » Site-wide Navigation -- which css? » 2014-07-30 09:29:02

I checked this box in wp-Theme, Pages and one gallery template in my gallery. Uploaded everything to the server and updated the album files with the publisher admin in ttg-be. Even republished a sample gallery. Still my menues look like this when hovered over:

SCR_Site_Menue.png

Can the blue result from somewhere else?

#174 Re: PHPlugins (CE4) » Site-wide Navigation -- which css? » 2014-07-29 15:31:09

Sorry,
I didn't mention that the blue hover colour only effects the menu items from second level onwards. My settings from the site info affect top level items.

For an impression visit http://fotos.michilge.de/blog

I had this with CE3 already, but now that I have my hands on it again, I would like to get it uniform.

Thank You

Hello everybody,

I'm updating from CE3 to CE4 and feel like being close before the finishing line. The improvements I noticed so far make me like it.

Biggest trouble up to now was that CE4 publisher changes names of directories to all-lowercase when albums or album sets are republished.

Today I succeeded in transfering the WP menu to pages and galleries with the PHPlugins described in the docs.
But when the mouse hovers over an menu item, that item gets a blue colour which I would prefer to edit.
Is there a particular CSS file I can edit or must this be done in PHPlugins too?

Thanks in advance for any hint,
best wishes,
Michael
