#2 Backlight 2 Support » No Right Click Images » 2020-03-06 18:41:18

I can hardly imagine that I am the first to pose this question, but I can not find a topic on this, so here goes.
In Backlight2, using the default page and default album, any visitor of the webpage, looking at the full screen gallery, can just right-click on any image and copy it. In Wordpress there is the "No Right Click Images" plugin, which blocks this. Is there any solution for this in the non Wordpress environment of Backlight2?
Thanks,
WimR.

#3 Backlight 2 Support » Annoying red progress line in top of screen with slideshow » 2019-01-14 22:23:45

It may have escaped my attention before, but lately I see a rather annoying red progress line in the top of the screen when playing the slideshow in Backlight2, newest version.
Can this be avoided? Please?

#4 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Upload failed » 2018-12-19 00:05:14

Wow! After a lot of experimenting I found the answer. Maximum width of pictures through Publisher ..... Add Photos should not exceed 5000 (or4999). Weird. Would be good to document this limitation.

In Backlight 2, module-publisher version 4.0.4. PHP version 7.3.0 in: Publisher ....  Add Photos I paste jpegs exported from LR Classic 8.1 and I get the error 'Upload failed' with 'upload error' behind the question mark.
The files are - as said - normal jpegs, not larger than 4 MB and it does not make a difference whether I upload 1 or 10 files, same error with all pictures.
What's happening?

#6 Re: Backlight Support » Standard album slideshow image duration » 2018-09-15 00:22:09

Yes, did all of that. Still no change. I am however not using Galleria or Vegas, just the standard built-in slideshow. Is that the problem?

#7 Re: Backlight Support » Standard album slideshow image duration » 2018-09-14 04:47:29

mmm, tried it and no result. I am using the Backlight - Album Template and therein:Photo Presentation - Slideshow. Changing the settings as per your link does not change the speed of Slideshow. What am I missing?

#8 Re: Backlight Support » Standard album slideshow image duration » 2018-09-13 07:45:44

Slideshow is really too fast. Is there any way to slow it down?

#9 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Publisher not found in Backlight2 » 2018-09-12 21:01:50

Thanks for guidance, it is solved now. But in my opinion this method adds unneeded complication. At least it should be well documented in the installation instructions. That would have saved me a long late night work.

#10 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Publisher not found in Backlight2 » 2018-09-12 08:45:18

As said: all is installed correctly. The installer file backlight/.htaccess file is on the server in backlight/.htaccess with max read/write permissions (777). Still same problem.

#11 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Publisher not found in Backlight2 » 2018-09-12 08:25:38

Does not work on my system. The answer from  "http://mydomain.xxx/backlight/publisher"  is: "The requested URL /backlight/publisher/ was not found on this server." I checked all the settings including permissions. Everything is set in the right way, so this new mechanism is apparently flawed.
Backlight1 works as always without problems.

Using Lightroom to publish as per the instruction: "The API URL will be http://yourdomain.com/backlight/publisher", however there is no publisher folder in backlight. Re-installed three times, to no avail. What am I missing?

#13 Re: Backlight Support » Getting started with Galleria - got an error... » 2018-01-17 21:28:18

O.k., after republishing the album it works now.
One new item though: setting the 'watermark to apply' in 'Features' always results in 'All rights reserved' in left bottom corner. Personalized watermarks do not display, while they do in Default Album and Theater.
Switching it off totally with 'Do not apply watermarks' works however.

#14 Re: Backlight Support » Getting started with Galleria - got an error... » 2018-01-17 07:58:50

same problem here and #25 does not solve the problem either (apart from the fact that  'dynamics' should be 'dynamic').

First of: I am a big fan of Backlight. I moved all my galleries to Backlight and it works flawlessly. See: www.wimrietveld.nl
Today I bought and installed Theater and I can only say that it is a disappointment. Sorry guys, but go to: http://wimrietveld.dyndns.org/bl/galler … esteinder/ and you will know what I mean.

The gallery on: http://wimrietveld.dyndns.org/bl/galler … de-winter/ shows how it is supposed to be.
You can judge for yourselves....

Waiting for improvements and with great respect for what has been achieved with Backlight,

Wim.

#16 Re: Backlight Showcase » Fusion of old and new » 2016-06-22 21:22:25

It is quite simple Markus.
First of all make a subdirectory in your main Webserver directory (mine has the name bl). Copy the Backlight environment into this subdirectory. Use Lightroom CE3 Pages or CE4 Pages to build your Home page with Galleria content. Make sure that the Galleries, Contact and Search menu labels point to the just created Backlight directory (in my case: /bl/galleries , /bl/?page=contact and  /bl/backlight/search/ ), while the Home menu label points to the root directory as: / .

Next copy the CE3/CE4 Page to the root directory, also copy ttg-be into the root and make sure that all permissions are right (777 for /bl/galleries, bl/backlight/data and ttg-be/data) and Presto!

Good luck and have fun.
Wim R.

PS: I use phplugins only to point to my custom.css stylesheet for the shadow around my Galleria home page.

Gained enough confidence with Backlight to move everything over into my 'mainstream' Web-address: http://www.wimrietveld.nl

Behind the tab 'Galleries' is the new Backlight environment. Behind the tab 'Roadrunner' is the classic CE4 environment, to be slowly migrated to Backlight.

Because I liked the CE4 Galleria so much, I have made it as a front-end to the indeed excellent Backlight environment. Still in test, but working quite well already. Only thing missing now: Slideshow!

#19 Re: CE4 Gallery » Some thumbnails blank since LR CC 2015.3 » 2015-12-04 01:05:05

Shut down and restart of the computer has alleviated the problem. All is fine again. Weird. It's a Mystery.
Thanks for attention.

#20 CE4 Gallery » Some thumbnails blank since LR CC 2015.3 » 2015-12-03 21:12:58

I have been using TTG-CE4 for a long time now and it always worked brilliantly. Until now.
Since the latest update of LR CC to 2015.3, using Gallery-618 on a Windows 10 X64 machine, all of a sudden some thumbnails on my webpage show up empty, see picture below.

tg2015.png

The pictures behind the blank thumbnails show up well, when opening. And whatever I do, either using Canon CR2 Raw files directly, or converting to .jpg’s first before building the Gallery, the outcome is every time the same, but also every time different thumbnails are blank. What is happening?

Hope you have an answer.

Best wishes, Wim.

PS: Old LR 6.0 still works fine. So it must be something in LR CC 2015.3.

#21 Re: CE4 Gallery » CE4 Magnific Popup and Touch are not an improvement » 2014-07-26 18:56:57

Well, that is a pity. Can you at least make the arrows a bit smaller than? Or, even better, add Highslide Slideshow to the options for mobiles?

First of: congratulations with the great new CE4! I am generally very happy with it.
I have one major concern though, related to CE4 Gallery (yes, I am at 6.0.2).
CE4 Gallery forces the display of a gallery slideshow on an iPad through Magnific Popup or Touch and both are less than ideal. The major problem is the two big and ugly arrow marks left and right OVER the picture. Who wants to have UI's over their picture. And they are pretty useless too, because everybody instinctively swipes over an iPad display. There really should be an option to get rid of this and, by the way, get rid of every UI, also the ones on top or bottom, while displaying pictures in a slideshow. It was working in CE3, so please restore this in CE4.
Thanks,
WR.
