#1 Re: Backlight Support » Problems sharing large image on social media » 2017-04-26 16:41:27

Thank you for your answer.

I am using Chrome, and it seems that the problem is with my units: It works on my ios mobile using chrome, it works on my ipad using safari and on my pc using microsoft edge, but not using chrome on my ipad or my pc.

I have tried units outside my network and it seems to work ok.

Life has to provide us with some mysteries I assume.

I have designed my galleries on two different levels, where some galleries are on level one, and some on level 2. This might seem confusing, but it is in order to gather similar topics under one heading on the top-level album set. I use it for "Steder", (Places), to display collections of different places I have photographed in. My albums can be seen at brathaug.no/stig.

I wanted to test the option to let the user share a picture on social media, and I used the method where you in the backlight system select "Image sharing" under the heading "Large Image Presentation". I have different templates for the top-level galleries and the level 2 galleries. I turned this option ON for both templates, cleared the cache and to be safe regenerated some pictures.

The result was that the button for sharing a picture on social media shows up in all large images, but when selected in a top level gallery the result is just a slightly greyed display, while at the level 2 picture it results in making the buttons for facebook etc available, and they function correctly.

I have gone through the settings for my different templates, but cannot find anything that should imply this difference, and need some help / tips to get further on this.

Top level gallery can be seen at http://stig.familyds.com/stig/mine-web- … e-nyheter/

Level 2 gallery can be seen at http://stig.familyds.com/stig/mine-web- … der/paris/

You can see the difference by selecting large display of any picture in these galleries oand the select "Bildemeny(Image sharing)" up in the right hand corner.

Please let me know if this makes any sense, if else I will have to rephrase it.

Regards
Stig

#3 Re: Backlight Support » No {Title} displayed for Large Image » 2016-10-30 18:59:04

The republish did the trick, I did not think that I had to republish because I did not change anything in LR, but of course, the pictures are generated with the text at publishing time.

Thank you again.

Thank You for your answer.

I will test / try this in various combinations to see what happens.

Thank you again.

The pictures already have a Title written into the metadata, and it shows up in the album-set thumbnails.

Just to be sure: am I using the correct field when I use the Album settings/Image settings/Image Metadata/Photos Caption in the design-menu?

It does not seem to have any effect in the large image display whatever I write i that field?

Thank you for your quick answer.

I now tried to add {Title} to the filed in Album settings/Image settings/Image Metadata/Photos Caption

I did not find the Title in the Large display now either

I have just upgraded from CE4 to Backlight. I use Photoswipe to display large images. When I display a large image the {caption} is displayed at the bottom of the page, just as I want it to, but the Title does not show anywhere. The title is used however, to display names i the thumbnail-grid. See example http://stig.familyds.com/stig/mine-web- … ns-farger/ and select any picture.

#8 Re: CE4 Auto Index » Some wishes for coming releases » 2015-11-09 23:14:43

Thank you for your answer.

I suspect that I cannot always replace the file with an older file because at a given release even this file may be updated, but I can always Edit the files. The problem is just to remember to do it.

I also guess that the redirect-action is the source of my problems but I do not know how to avoid / fix the situation.

I do not completely understand why, but in order to display my galleries correctly on ipads They must be opened in a new window from the index-page in order to display individual images correctly. I can achieve that today by modifying a setting to "true" in a file called autoindex-view. The same goes for sorting order in the index. My site starts with a redirection onto pages created by wordpress, www.brathaug.no/stig

The only problem is that everytime I export new autoindex-settings these values are reset to default again.

I would very much like these settings to be available as settings in the panel where the rest of the autoindex-settings are placed. I would then not have to manually edit the said file for every change in any setting.

#10 Re: CE4 Gallery » Google analytics » 2015-10-30 21:11:09

When I included the Google-script in template_index.php, I could get a report if the pictures was displayed using the php mechanism instead of as a jpg-file. This can be achieved if a user clicks on the chain-symbol, or if a standard display method for the gallery is chosen.

I do not know how to achieve the same with direct presentation of .jpg files.

#11 Re: CE4 Gallery » Google analytics » 2015-10-30 05:14:59

Thank you for your quick answer.

So there is no method to find which pictures Are the most popular?

I am very happy using CE4, but I would like to be able to get some statistics on which pictures are opened. I am no programmer, so I hope there is a simple way of getting this information. I am presently using google analytics on the "top pages" on my domain, but when a gallery index is opened, and thereafter any pictures, I have no information available. My domain is www.brathaug.no and the site is in Norwegian. The address www.brathaug.no/stig opens CE4-generated pages.

In the top pages, by the way I am using Wordpress, I include some code supplied by Google in the footer.php file in the theme.

Does any similar file exist for indexes and individual picture pages where I may include the Google-code?

Will you recommend any other solution to this problem, for curious guys like me?

I am using CE4 Publisher, cart, autoindex and gallery

#13 Re: CE4 Cart » Does not even get started :-( » 2015-10-08 21:18:42

I finally found why the numer 300 show up. I have set "flat shipping rate" to 150 and minimum shipping to 150 and they were added. I did not understand the pricing model it seems.

Now I am happy, customers may start shop anytime :-)

Thank you for your efforts.

#14 Re: CE4 Cart » Does not even get started :-( » 2015-10-08 15:52:49

To question 1: I do not need to specify the sequence of the additional fields, I just moved the definitions of each additional field to fit the sequence I needed.

I have tried to use the cart on a system that never has been exposed to the cart before, and the system behaved as on my computer: the value 300 still shows up.

I deleted the shipping method "Standard leveranse" and defined it anew, but the value 300 still shows up.

#15 Re: CE4 Cart » Does not even get started :-( » 2015-10-08 05:00:56

Thank you for your reply.

The page you are taken to ask for street and postal info because I defined the additional fields. The page is the same if you select Digital download.

Maybe I should try this on a device that has not tested this yet, to see if some values are stuck in the system.

You command the norwegian language very good :-).

#16 Re: CE4 Cart » Does not even get started :-( » 2015-10-08 03:57:52

I am getting closer, but still have some issues I don't control yet:

1) I would like to be able to control the sequence "additional fields" shows up in the cart checkout, I have one field asking for street address and one field asking for postal code and postal place. They should show up after each other, but the last field is placed last of all fields.

2)Shipping pricing: It seems like an old value is stuck in the system somewhere, I have reset the cart and refreshed the web-pages. I get 300 as a value, even if the pricing scheme for standard delivery says 150.

3)Shipping address: I expected the cart checkout would ask for a street and postal address when a physical product was chosen. Is there a way to achieve this?

I guess that I just have forgotten some settings, or not found all necessary settings yet. I am happy with the solution you provide with the cart-module, it is an easy way to make my pictures available for sale.

#17 Re: CE4 Cart » Does not even get started :-( » 2015-10-06 01:02:41

The products showed up, pure magic. Must have been a presaved webpage in the browser somehow.

I will continue to test and learn, this will probably not be the last issue I encounter.

#18 Re: CE4 Cart » Does not even get started :-( » 2015-10-06 00:53:38

Thank you for your answer. I was not aware of the need to update anything in the publisher-area.

That got me a step further :-)

Now my problem is that I have a pricing strategy called standard that contains both digital download and printouts, but when i click on the cart only the print option shows up. I am sure this is also some stupid mistake by me, but I need a hint to proceed.

I have purchased Cart, created a template, copied the cart-folder into ttg-be and enabled cart integration for 2 galleries and exported the settings to ttg-be/galleries. I have also configured ttg-be with cart settings.

When I go to web-module in Lightroom with the cart-enabled galleries selected, a Cart is shown in upper right corner of each thumbnail.

I have regenerated / published the galleries on the server.

The problem is that when I open a gallery that is cart-enabled, using the normal website, no cart-symbol shows up in the thumbnail or in any individual pictures, so I cannot test the cart-setups or make my pictures available for sale.

My webpage is stig.familyds.com/stig and the gallery to check is "aktuelle nyheter"

Can anyone give me a hint on how to move forward with this?

I am my own host. I am using a NAS solution from Synology, which provides a wordpress-app.

I must deep-dive into the documentation to see what I can find.

Thank you.

I am using ce4 publisher/gallery, and it works very well on windows pc's, at least at my pc, but it does not display properly large images on ipad or iphone. I cannot mave back and forth between pictures, and individual large images does not display correctly. I typically use 1600 pixels horisontal size, is this too big? To try to avoid any problems I chose simplest solution, the HTML-image, for mobile devices, but nothing happened on Ipad or Iphones. I do not get the HTML-image solution for large images. How can I see if the appropriate code has been used? Is this a size-issue, or are there any issues wiht large images on ipads or iphones? Do I use wrong  "producion steps" when there is a change in the gallery setup? This is annoying, most people browse using ipads now. My address is brathaug.no/stig.
