I am having trouble getting FTP programs to upload TTG-BE to my webspace. Have tried using Panic Traffic and CyberDuck. Using my host's admin pages I can see the folder under the FTP tab, but can't run the TTG admin page. I get a German 404 message instead.
My website has several subdomains, which affects the paths for the webspace, as follows. This is hosted in Germany, so the webspace is called "webseiten" (webpages).
dilworth.de | Path: /webseiten
fotos.dilworth.de | Path: /webseiten/gallery 3
photos.dilworth.de | Path: /webseiten/coppermine/coppermine
learningtosee.dilworth.de | Path: /webseiten/wordpress/wordpress/wordpress
I can tear all this down and start from scratch if necessary since TTG will replace my use of Coppermine and Gallery 3.
Only explanation for why there are 3 instances of WordPress and 2 of Coppermine could be upgrades / re-installations.
I would have thought that fields in FTP programs for "path" would be for destination paths, so I have specified the exact desired destination, but to no avail.
Any suggestions? Many thanks.
Robert
Am I correct that I need to upload TTG-BE
Offline
HI Robert,
yes, you need to upload the unzipped ttg-be folder to the root of your website. Usually this is in the public_html folder but if you're running in a sub-domain, the upload it to the root of the sub-domain.
Be sure to include links to your site too, that usually helps a great deal with troubleshooting.

This issue resolved. Found some German-language FTP help pages from my host, fashioned a question in German to the help desk and got back two prompt responses. Was a server-side setting that I needed to change so as to force the FTPs to land in the webspace.
Got TTG-BE Admin configured and am now onto the next steps.

Hello Rod,
I have the same problem, but I still have not found a solution. I ve uploaded now the unzipped CE4-TTG-BE-203 in the public_html. What should I do next?
I have copied the folder ttg-be to the public_html and get the 502 Bad Gateway nginx/1.6.3 message.
Thanks
Victoria

Hi Robert,
probably you could share your experience with FTP? I do not have any subdomains, so it should be easier..
Thanks

Victoria, can you post a link to your site?
Who are you hosting with?
Do you know if they meet the TTG hosting requirements (stated on all product pages)?

Well that's not our stuff running at that location, so doesn't really provide any useful information re: Rod's questions.

Scroll towards the bottom.

the site is not a ttg based site, it's WordPress. Most hosts that can support WordPress should also be able to support TTG.
If your host reports that SQLite and PDO modules are enabled, then Ben will need to take a closer look, most likely needing FTP access.

Wait for Matt to comment on Squarespace. Isn't Squarespace a website building platform? I don't know that it will be compatible with TTG

Hi Rod,
thanks for quick replies
So, I got the info from my hoster.
PHP 5.3
as a frontend Nginx
as a backend - Apache
The hoster supports SQlite and PDO (https://TEMPUS.timeweb.ru/phpinfo.php)
Please help me with my problem.

The story with Squarespace looks much more complicated as I have now. Yes, it is a website building plattform and they do not have any tradional upload for external files..

TTG is designed to be used with traditional hosting where you have control of everything that goes on the site. Many of us are using Bluehost. Matt has a link to Bluehost in the sidebar of the blog's front page if you want to check them out.

Squarespace is a service, not a host. You cannot use TTG products on a Squarespace account.

Ben will likely need to take a look. He'll probably need FTP access
I suggest sending him an email referring to this thread and including FTP credentials
You can contact him from the links on his profile page: http://community.theturninggate.net/user/101/

Not much of this conversation makes sense to me, and as you have nothing online to show us, there's very little we can do to make sense of it. Best I can gather, you should be installing TTG BE at:
/webseiten/ttg-be

Dear Matthew,
I am/was ready to show you everything you want, online and offline - just let me know, what exactly should I show you in order you begin to do something. What is "websiten/ttg-be"? My directory looks as follows
wordpress_4/public_html
The ttg-be is now directly in the public_html and it doesnot work.
For me makes no sense as well to pay money and after several days of pleading for help, still have nothing while I needed it very urgent because my cutomers were waiting. I really don't understand your attitude.
But anyway I cant afford to have business with such people as you, because it influences my business as well.
I am asking for the second time - how can I get my money back?
Regards,
Victoria
