alternate installation possible in a folder under public_html?

I have created a sub folder under public_html defined as "a".
Is this possible and what do I have to do to make it operate independently of the primary BL?

install backlight in the "a" folder just as you did for the root. log in at yoursite.com/a/backlight/ and set up the new site.

If you're also using the Backlight Pages module, be sure to install the index.php and .htaccess in the "a" folder as well.

That did it. Thank you. Is it also possible to copy templates form the primary installation so I don't have to redo all the settings:

you can copy the whole backlight/ folder, but you'll also be copying the databases so that the new site will think it has all the same pictures of the old site.
You can then try deleting /backlight/data/publisher/ from the new installation.
Then just create a new Publisher instance in Lightroom and publish to the /a/galleries/ folder. I think that should establish a new, clean publisher database.
