Album description

The description of some albums (Cambodia, Laos), does not appear in Google Chrome, so it appears in other browsers ?

Furthermore the quality of large images is degraded, and always in Google Chrome ?

Has anyone any idea of the problem!

thank you in advance.

Philippe

Re: Album description

not sure what you're referring to. Things look normal to me. Can you be more specific? provide screen shots of what you're seeing?

Re: Album description

Here are two screenshots, one with Chrome or no descriptions in the books, and the other with Firefox or descriptions are present. This is also the same with my laptop.

The presentation of large pictures with Google Chrome is less clear than in other browsers too!
I checked with my current site that is not in test, and the images are exactly the same with Firefox or Google!

Thank you

Philippe

Re: Album description

Hmm. I'm seeing the same thing in Chrome and Firefox:
chrome-v-firefox.jpg

can't really comment on the image quality as I'm away from home and only using my laptop. But that being said, images look very similar to me in Chrome and Firefox

Re: Album description

On the screenshots that show you, I also see the same thing! But if you click on the gallery Laos or Cambodia are set albums, there you may see where the problem is!

Re: Album description

I think that's something for Matt to look at. On my Mac, the gallery description works in Safari, but not in Chrome.

In the album http://test.vuedailleurs.com/galleries/02-cambodge/, when I add following CSS code I get the description to show

figcaption {
    width: 50%;
}

Single page view seems to be sharper with Safari than with Chrome too.

Re: Album description

I'm not able to reproduce this in my own album sets. Can you tell me all of your settings for the album set template?

What happens if you set a smaller Description Character Limit?

Re: Album description

Hi Matthew,

I defined a character limit of 100, and 50, and still the same problem whether on Mac or Windows!
I must say that it works correctly on my iPhone with Google Chrome.

Here are my settings

The Grid

Margin-top:  36px
Margin-bottom:  24px

The Cells

Border:  1px
Border-radius:  0px
Margins:  6px

Album Info

Description Character Limit:  250
Text-align:  center

Layout Style Descriptive

Album Max-width:  502px
Album Height:  200px
Album Padding:  10px
Thumbnail Max-width:  300px
Max. Columns:  2
Columns at Page Breakpoint:  2

Re: Album description

All of this works just fine on my side.

On your site, I see you have some custom CSS. One of your rules is "margin-top: -20px;". When I remove that, all is well.

I'm not sure it's valid to put a negative margin on a relative positioned element. If you want to kill that space, then "top: -20px;" would be more appropriate, and that seems to work just fine.

Re: Album description

Good evening,

The albums description of problem is now resolved, following the recommendations of Matthew.
Thanks again.

By account there is always the image sharpness issue.
In the three browsers can I test my home, Safari, Firefox, Chrome, the sharpest images are in order: Firefox, Safari comes next, and finally chrome or she is really much worse than the rest !

Does anyone have any idea of the problem because my current site (built with EC4) in any browser images are still sharp!

Re: Album description

I just looked at my workplace quality large images with Internet Explorer.
I believe they are of lower quality than Firefox, but better than chrome!

All these differences in image quality is very strange for me!
Does anyone has an explanation?

Re: Album description

Philippe,

could you re-post your image quality question as a new topic? It really doesn't relate to the original topic of this thread and would be more helpful (for others searching similar problems) if it was under its own topic. Plus, somebody who might know the answer will be more likely to see it if it's under its own topic.
