Ah I see it's smart enough to just sort it out without re-uploading all the photos.
I think I have what I want!

Yup - I got my parent child figured out.
(If only I could figure out parent/child in the real world)

#203 Re: Backlight Support » Album Sets » 2017-11-13 09:59:11

Ah - I'm getting there.
Thanks - I'll plug away

So if I have already published an album that should be in a set, do I have to drag & drop that into an album set (in LR) and re-publish it?

Is there a tutorial on what this is and how it's done?

I think that it's for creating a parent page with multiple child albums.

I want to create this page, and add child albums to it.

I see there is an option in LR to create an album set.

I tried to create an album using that, but it won't allow me to add images to it.

I'm also using Vegas. Thanks for the comparison - I'll see if I can hunt down that setting.

#206 Re: Backlight Support » Can't update this collection error » 2017-11-13 08:20:15

So, I have signed up with Bluehost.
It is going to take a few days (3-5) before the switch is made, apparently. Meanwhile I cannot publish an album due to this GoDaddy problem!!!
Is there a workaround? I guess I can wait a few days while I figure out a few things.

Edit: It looks like if I keep publishing, it picks up where it left off.
I have a gallery of 300 photos, so, at 10-20 uploads between crashes, it's going to take a while, but it's a workaround.

The Slideshow settings don't have anything that I can see would affect the nav. menu.
If I disable playback controls, they still show (both desktop & mobile).

Also, I was double checking using IE and when I first visit/load the site, there s a large white box in the centre of the Content area. It does diappear when you refresh, but that's another bug.

What is your Navigation > Horizontal Navigation setting?

It's set to 'Top Pallet', so it shows up on a desktop as expected, and you would expect it to be on the mobile devices too, but it's not.

That is 'on' - Any other suggestions please?... Anyone?

Hi,
Just spent 2 hrs. last night trying to get menus to show up. Could not get them to work, or so I thought...

I was working and checking using my Windows 10 tablet.

I checked my desktop before night night and saw that menus are there.
Probably were there a while back, but I assumed they weren't, because I was working/checking on the tablet, all along.

So why don't I see them on my tablet or phone? Bug?

Maybe when the slideshow is full screen, you don't see the auto refresh?
Or just maybe it's because I had the Bottom Pallet/Copyright off....

Doh!

#212 Re: Backlight Support » Album changes not updating » 2017-11-12 14:02:56

I had a setting wrong - it's fixed now.
I am logged in.

#213 Re: Backlight Support » Album changes not updating » 2017-11-12 13:37:50

So you would expect that 'Full Screen' under the Vegas Slideshow settings would do just that. Is there a document on what that and 'Inline' actually mean? Selecting one or the other doesn't change anything.

Peter

Edit: Looks like I have to 'Clear Template Cache' (quite often) for things to appear properly.
So full screen shows images either side of a white rectangle - I guess that's a place holder in the page, that will have to be changed.

#214 Re: Backlight Support » Album changes not updating » 2017-11-12 13:31:28

Oh I guess that is defined in Lightoom?
It's kind of confusing that some things have to be assigned in LR and not in Backlight - but I guess it's meant to be used with LR, so I get it, but still confusing at first!
But... I now have a slideshow!
The auto-refresh icon in the lower right and Backlight logo lower left are not there - I noticed that early on, is that a bug?
I will now try to fine tune the slideshow settings - I want to go full screen except for the menu items.

Oh, thanks for your help!
Peter

#215 Re: Backlight Support » Album changes not updating » 2017-11-12 12:44:46

I see. So I went to Lightroom and re-published the album - I think it's correct now, but I still don't get a slideshow.

#216 Re: Backlight Support » Album changes not updating » 2017-11-12 11:02:13

To summarize:

I created a new page template, which is assigned to the home page (Backlight/Designer/Page/Home/Design: Page Template = 'New Front Page' (the name of my new page template).
The new Album Template is assigned to 'New Front Page'

I try to change something in the Design Template (Album Settings) menus, like Presentation/Enable Controls but the site doesn't get updated.
The Presentation Type is set to Vegas Slideshow, which also doesn't work.

Probably something obvious, but I can't see.

I created a new template, nothing changed in it though, just called it 'New Front Page'
Then I assigned it to my 'Home' page by selecting it from the drop down under 'Page Template' in the Design Page screen.

I can change things in the Design Template (Pangolin Page) menu, I can add a different album in the Design Page (Page Settings) menu too.

I try to change something in the Design Template (Album Settings) menus, like Presentation settings, and nothing gets updated.
It's like it's using a different album.

Auto refresh is on and manually refreshing doesn't change anything either.

Is there some other info I can post?

Thanks.
Edit:
I found this http://backlight.theturninggate.net/doc … ull-screen
but after following the instructions, selecting the Vegas Slideshow option still doesn't take.

The page has a mistake on it re. Search button disable - not an option on the Page design. I wonder if this is an old instruction page that is no longer valid.

#218 Re: Backlight Support » Can't update this collection error » 2017-11-08 11:05:13

Looks like GoDaddy has me on an old server and wants me to upgrade to different one that supports PHP 7.0

Hi,
I have just installed Backlight, Pages & Theatre.
As a long time user of TTG LR plugins, I decided to re-vamp the site using the new Backlight tools.
I have managed to make progress, but every time I try to publish a gallery, I keep getting this message:

Can't update this collection
Error uploading rendition.
Unable to complete the action.
Followed by some other gobble-de-gook including:
"     [nativeCode]=> 12152

The gallery contains over 300 images and only 21 were uploaded.
I have had this issue on all attempts with smaller galleries.

I also tried after completely removing all folders under the TTG Publisher service (in LR) and deleted all albums under 'Backlight>Publisher>Top-level Galleries>Albums and starting 'fresh'. Still the same issue.
Can I provide any other info that will help?

Peter
