#126 Backlight 2 Support » Shipping Costs per item question? » 2019-01-31 02:39:27

I want to setup Shipping based on quantity based on a threshold where the price per item shipping cost is reduced.

For example, initially an item may have a Minimum Shipping for this Product at $3.00 for a quantity of one and the per-item cost would be less.

So, for argument sake if the per-item costs is $1.00, currently, the shipping cost would not change until the quantity reaches 4 - then the cost would be $4.00.

However, What I am looking for is a way to set the minimum shipping cost for a single item is $3.00 and when the quantity is increased it adds the per-item cost so a quantity of two is $4.00 not kept at $3.00 until the quantity reaches in this case 4.

Therefore, for a quantity of four the cost would be $6.00 not $4.00.  So, in normal terms a per-item shipping cost is added to the Minimum Shipping as each item is added and not the way it seems to be working until it reaches the Minimum Shipping costs.  This is the way normal shipping works in the industry the way I explained it.

Is there a way of doing this; I have explored many options but not seeing a solution.  Or is this a future request to add or fix?

I hoped I explained it okay?

Thanks It had just occurred to me that you might be looking at the wrong button. Thanks I won't have to chase my tail.

One more thing just to make sure we are talking about the same change button. I am talking about the button that once you proceed to checkout (aka Offline Checkout) that is the change order button I am talking about.

I will check; I do have a couple of special scripts running for the menus only.  But, i will check to see if there is some interference. Thanks.  By the way, I have not seen that message about the anti-virus before either & I am running an anti-virus on my setup as well.

Whenever the change order button is pressed it just re-flashes the same page.  The URL seems to be incorrect as if I change and eliminate the duplicate "cart" in the URL it goes to the cart page. For example: the URL where the change order button is displays: http://www.mysite.com/backlight/cart/ca … _checkout/  If I eliminate one of the cart entries as such http://www.mysite.com/backlight/cart/invoiced_checkout/ It returns to the following page http://www.mysite.com/backlight/cart/

Of course http://www.mysite.com/ is not my site name just used here as an example.  I have not changed anything n the cart setup with the buttons or anything like that just using the defaults for now.

Is there something I missed in the setup somewhere?

in IE11 I see the dashboard but not the menus.  I just click on Designer and then use the breadcrumbs.  But, I will use MS Edge until I figure out why IE11 does not show the menus.

Nevermind I figured it out.  The problem appears when I use IE11 it works under MS Edge

Maybe I missed something, but in Backlight 1 you could upload images going to Designer->Templates->Upload.  However, in Backlight 2, I do not see that option or did it move somewhere else and I am missing it?

I have my site running now on Backlight 2 www.keylightphotography.us  - I started with CE3 and eventually upgraded to CE4, then Backlight 1 and now Backlight 2.  I wish to thank Ben for pointing me in the right direction on getting Backlight 2 installed.

Thanks Ben, I did not think about that.  It is now on my list of things to check in the future.

By, the way it does seem to work once I added it to the Advanced Settings under Backlight 1 just not for the search page.  However, I will try adding the REWRITE's it at the root directory.

Then why does it show up in Backlight Settings in Backlight 1?  I have not installed Backlight 2.

Follow-up on MS Edge Browser, it appears it works most of the time on my desktop but a few times it does fail when accessing the search page.  I also changed settings on each of the browsers and clearing cache but still not working when accessing the page.  Also, on android MS Edge also fails when accessing the search page. It also does not work on Safari on iOs as well.  So, I do not think it is a browser issue at this point. Just finished testing all possible scenarios except using other browsers such as Opera, Firefox but as I said I do not think it is a browser issue.  Hmmm Maybe Matt and Ben can come up with a solution.

Also, after  some testing it appears only to be happening with IE 11 and Chrome.  MS Edge browser seems to be working.

Hi, recently added an SSL to my site, made the changes to add the REWRITE to the .htacess file through Backlight Settings and updated the Publisher Album/Album Sets as per the instructions.  Made any changes required to ensure that all the http: modified to https:  Everything works fine (all my pages, carts, CRG's, albums and album) no errors except for the Search page it still reports the Only secure content is displayed.  There must be a place in the code somewhere in Backlight that must have an http: call to search that needs to be modified maybe or am I missing something?

#149 Re: Backlight Support » Centering Menu for Galleries and Search Pages » 2019-01-15 09:46:38

I fixed the problem it is weird though.  I created clones of the My Album Set, My Album, and the Page Templates I was using.  Then I updated the Galleries and Publisher settings and the menus are now centered.  I then went back to the original templates I am using for the other pages and the Galleries and Search page went back to the left side but the other pages remain in the center.

Not sure why, but I went back to the Cloned templates for the Galleries and Search Templates and now everything is centered. So just have to work with two different set of templates. BTW, I did clear the cache for each of these tests just if you were going to ask.

I am using the same Page template for all my pages, album templates and album set template.  But, I will relook at it again.
