What exactly does clear feedback in browser do, and what is its purpose
Thanks unfortunately mine works exactly the same as yours it is the responsible resizing that is based on width not height. so if you resize yours to landscape/ tablet the portrait is not resized so is of the screen, yet the landscape image is OK. There is not option to set image height only width. So mixing and maintaining a full window image is not possible
I had exactly the same problem on both of my sites. So I implemented Matt's fix and it worked, I had to make sure I cleared the browser cache as well as backlights cache
decided to wait in case I make a mistake in deleting things. Also have a problem that the emailed info when sent is different tham chosen. not sure what has happened as i had not updated album after feedback started. If a client creates feedback and i deleted images and add images in response what will happen to the feedback i info in the database. Ie i get a don't want that one and then asked tp change one to BW. so I update the album. Assume it is a backlight managed CRG album
During testing I generated a number of test feedback sessions. Is there anyway to delete them from the feedback listed under client response - feedback
does Backlight run under PHP 7 .
I have Spent some time playing with Juxtapose and unfortunately I have had to come to the conclusion that due to its lack of support for portrait images, and missed aspect ration images it is unusable in its current state. As a one off using the code from the juxtapose web site it is fine . but within an album its not.
Thanks but it does not really do the job with mixed aspect ratio images. Not having much luck with custom CSS either.
I was hoping to create sample albums using client images to show them the before and after and a general album with possible post processing examples, currently I would have to have one for landscape images and portrait images.
This would even be the case for a generic sample album, where I have more control over aspect ratio, for all clients to choose options from.
Is there any guidance notes for using Juxtapose. Ie when using juxtapose with multiple image pairs making sure the correct ones overlap, Sort by file name at the moment. but this does not put the pairs in the correct order.
Image size as there is no fit to screen, etc. My images are all of the screen in different ways depending on aspect ratio
That sorted it
I reset all permissions. Sorry i cannot provide real links as I have built my test site locally.
However as a test I copies the missing files and I now have a top level Index page. The problem is that it has two empty Album sets from the Site I copies the backlight folder from. So is may not have created the Top level gallery as it though it already existed.
How do clear them out as they do not exist in publisher nor do they have a presence in the galleries folder, they are just memories from the original site.
I repeated the whole process of copying the backlight folder to my test site, logged on to admin changed the settings. Created a galleries folder. Using a new Lightroom catalogue, I created a new publisher instance checked it, created a basic album added images and then published. all I got was a galleries folder, with an album folder inside (album name this time simply album.
If I navigate to http://test-ttg-bl.site/galleries/album/ (local test site) i see the album as expected but there is no index file etc to go to if I navigate to http://test-ttg-bl.site/galleries/. Publisher settings say the galleries is the to level directory
Thanks did all of that. In all my other backlight sites I have an index.php in the galleries folder that has a top level page showing my sets and albums. This time all i get is a folder in the galleries for each set and a folder for alums not in a set. No top level gallery index page, what have i turned off??
As you are bringing out new features especially for theatre I want to create a new test site, my old one became my live site.
Is there a way of duplicating the backlight site and gallery with an empty gallery. I want to start creating albums that focus on different types of slideshow etc. However as i may want to then transfer them to my existing site a test bed close to its layout and design would make things easier.
I was thinking of creating a new backlight site then copying over certain folders IE designer custom etc.
Thanks I will setup my sync system based on the above. It will allow me to play more and learn. But i have to say i like Backlight more and more as I use it. I still use CE4 though for stand alone galleries that i can put on intranets or none live systems. Just wish it was as easy and as quick to configure as Backlight.
Organised it by putting logon button on the menu. So I have an Album Set with Theatre Slideshow and two hidden Albums. This allows me to easily add more albums Backlight access managed Publisher access managed or public all for the same client. Backlight managed albums are hidden until logged on then client has option to chose the album. The client appears to be please with the ease. Just got to wait to see how they find adding feedback. So thanks for your help
I am hoping that Matthew is going to tell me that To keep all of the Feedback safe and up to date all I need to do is to exclude the backlight/data/client-response or the backlight/data/client-response/master.sq3 file. As it is only any client feedback or info i need to keep safe. All config and design is still changing as i learn and as updates with additional options are added.
Sorry to be a bit more specific But if a client is in the process of proving feedback using the managed option. can I upload any changes to my local version template settings or is cooler settings etc in a DB / same DB as the feedback.
I used the same system, especially as I was developing my website. I use a combination of FileZilla and GoodSync. I would still like to do it this way however, I have just gone live with a Backlight managed site and I don't want to loose the feed back I now sync directly to my live site. Are there any files I can exclude from the sync that will not lose the feedback when I change the site design locally and sync, or are they in the same DB?
I have just published my first wedding album using backlight.
This consists of an Album set containing 2 Backlight managed albums (formal and informal images) plus a Theatre slideshow currently not password protected. Dealt with in a previous post.
When I enter a managed album it asks for email and password upon successful login I am then presented with album choices, in this case two. However, I have already chosen the album from within the album set. I am a little confused as to the process for setting up the login for a client.
I don’t mind if they choose the album then login or login then choose (the second option looks better as it has feedback available info). So how do I give the client one thing to click on which then asks them for the password so they then get their available albums to choose.
I will be adding albums later that will contain their chosen images to be incorporated into a Blurb book.
Thank you will try that. Just put together my first Wedding shoot Album set using Backlight so will see how the client likes it, especially as they live in Turkey so everything has to be communicate remotely. I do have a few more questions regarding using multiple albums in a managed album set, but need to be sure what I am asking so will raise another spot for that. In the mean time very pleased with the results.
Can I password protect a theatre slideshow as i want to provide a slideshow for clients to view, or to show friends, but i don't want it to be public without there permission, I want to password protect it via publisher rather than as a backlight client
Found it. Have to use
nav,
nav ul {
background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5);
}
Any way to make the nav bar the same width as the content not full width
I have made the masthead background background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.2); using Backlight Admin ( I also tested custom css using .masthead and this worked)
However when I went to change the background of the Navigation bar background there was no alpha option.
So I inspected the code and changing nav ul to background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.2); worked however when I put this in the custom css it was still opaque. but a little darker orange (set to orange for testing purposes in Backlight admin) and this the orange is strike through, and turning it off has no effect.
I am just setting up a test slideshow after purchasing Theatre and have come across a problem I cannot find the solution too.
When I set the Float UI Page to off The masthead image drops below the Hamburger line on the breakpoint and the Image navigation disappears. But the masthead image is fluid as I want to maximise the screen I want the Masthead to be on the same line as the Hamburger. Floating the UI Page to On does this and the image navigation remains however the masthead image is no longer fluid. Any suggestions?
