Oh Boy.
1/ So, going back to the Wordpress Navigation Magic tutorial - I don't use Auto Index at all, instead I use the 'phplugins-sample' and the phplugins-sample > phplugins.php file that came straight out of Pages?
2/ And, the only thing I use the Auto Index for is to export and place inside the tag-be > templates > auto index folder (for Publisher to use)?
But my Galleries page is being used by Pages as the Home screen with Full Screen Flip.
( and I need this as a separate Publisher managed gallery)
Thankyou Rod, you explain that very eloquently.
And just to be 110% clear .... all the exports from Auto Index become the /galleries folder replacing the one from Pages?
Sorry to be so slow, I guess I must be showing my age!
Sorry, still struggling here.
Matt, as you have noted my site design is basically the same as yours ... Pages for Home/Flip & Galleries + all other pages generated in WP.
In your tutorial ....
http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku.php?id=ce4_102
Steps 4: The Exported Auto Index becomes /galleries at the same location as the WordPress files ....
(I think I did this originally and all was good. However, following some other initiative, (maybe in setting up Publisher?), I was advised to keep my galleries at top level - with the Pages outputs).
So, is this correct ....
Export Auto Index and have these files in a folder called 'galleries' which I use to replace the /galleries folder that was exported from Pages.
Then, fetch this server path and use in all other LR outputs - Pages/Gallery Templates/Wordpress etc
Continue with alterations to the /galleries/plugins/phplugin.php file
Is that the Magic Path?
Thanks again

For my personal site, I keep Wordpress in its own /blog directory, but I use it to create nearly all of my pages, as well as run my blog. I use Pages to create my Home page slideshow and Galleries page (auto index) only.
For the Publisher managed Full Screen Flip Home page thing, I should just use TTG Pages with the Gallery page assigned as Home?
(I don't need to use TTG Stage?)
told you I was an idiot
1/ First ... I'm desperate to solve my Password crisis see below (I'm an Idiot) thread?
2/ Next - If I want Publisher to manage my Home Full Screen Flip gallery and also to manage my (auto) galleries folder - do I need
two ttg-be folders ?
At the moment ttg-be is in the root domain directory but the tutorial on instigating Publisher for Wordpress galleries from within a Wordpress theme says to put ttg-be folder inside the root blog folder (as it were) (mine is the About folder).
so do I need two versions of ttg-be ?
if I move ttg-be nothing works.
this is my link ...
http://www.ce4.photostomp.co.uk
and here is a screenshot of my server directories ...
http://www.media.photostomp.co.uk/screen
sorry chaps, really thought I was on a roll earlier!
ttg-be / publisher
I seem to have forgotten my admin username and password - doh - what to do?
haha
very funny
no way
Hang on wow .... you're going well above me now - I have no idea what a "walker" is!
Can I change the Mobile Breakpoint in WP dashboard?
A quick Google would suggest that it is probably easier to change in LR then re-export and ftp theme again?
thx
Yeah I guess so
Think I'm getting my head around it now!
Ok great - thanks.
I've got the Phplugin Menus working now and ther're awesome - phew!
I guess the above is probably not practical as you would need to update each and every .php file - is that correct?
If so, can I re-export WP Theme from LR and use FTP to replace an existing Theme (with the same name)?
Will changes that I have already made from within the WP Admin be lost?
Is it possible to update the Phplugin server path after export (in various templates / themes etc) with a text editor?
Is so, where is it found?
Thanks
Thanks Matt,
2 more quickies please ....
following above ...
2a/ If (for the time being), I don't want multiple galleries, but I just want to be taken directly to a (lets say masonry) thumbnail
gallery .... do I still install Auto Index - and/or, how to I make that work with the above Phplugin navigation guidelines?
(2b) are there two different answers for this depending on if I intend to introduce additional indexed galleries at a later date?
5a/ Is there a link for any Phplugin Masthead help/guidance (with Worpress as above)?
Thanks again.
Intended site design ....
• Initial design in Pages - Background / Menu Items / MastHead / Footer etc / Social Media
• Full screen flip for Home Page (managed by Publisher ideally)
• Galleries to be managed via Publisher.
• All other pages (various Info and About type pages plus one actual Blog) to be created and designed within Wordpress interface.
Questions:
1/ if the above is a crazy mis-guided plan, please let me know?
2/ If I follow these TTG instructions (link below) to use Phplugins to 'Magic' together the menu system between Lightroom and Wordpress ...
http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku.php?id=ce4_102
3/ What do I insert as my initial menu Targets during my initial Pages and Auto Index etc design?
4/ Once the 'Magic' has caste it's spell .... will I be then be able to rename, and add or delete any pages I like from the whole site from within Wordpress - is that correct?
5/ Regarding Dynamic Mastheads ... is there a difference between managing these for Pages pages (Home/Galleries etc) and for my Wordpress pages?
Sorry, for so many queries.
you could have achieved the same results with the About page from Pages and then just use WordPress for your blog and perhaps other pages you might need.
My html and CSS is not up to achieving these same results in Pages .... but I did find the Beaver Builder to be pretty straight forward, Im attracted to build other pages in WP as well.
So, would it be better practice to put WP in a top level folder called Wordpress. Then change the TTG Pages links to Wordpress/about
etc, for all pages that I want to build in Wordpress.
I think that would be confusing.
sorry, but I can't see why that is more confusing than putting other random pages in a sub directory of the About page?
Ok, I'm back ...
you can create as many pages with WordPress as you like. If you want them accessible from your main site menu, just add them to the navigation items in Pages (and all your publisher templates or galleries and indexes).
If you plan on doing this, it would be easiest to manage your navigation with phplugins so you won't have to keep adding navigation items to Pages and all of your galleries or album templates.
Most links are not yet active, but this is what I have so far ...
http://www.ce4.photostomp.co.uk/index.php
So, everything was done in Pages, then Wordpress was installed in an 'About' folder.
And that link works and I built the About page in WP.
And now, I'm getting to like this Wordpress business, (especially with the addition of your Beaver Builder suggestion).
And I can see lots of reasons to build various pages from in WP.
So, would it be better practice to put WP in a top level folder called Wordpress. Then change the TTG Pages links to Wordpress/about
etc, for all pages that I want to build in Wordpress.
Is that a good philosophy?
(Then follow the tutorial and try to use phplugins to manage the navigation afterwards)
Another option is to make WordPress the backbone of your site and use its navigation menu functionality. Matt has a tutorial on doing that here: http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku.php?id=ce4_102
Yes, I am beginning to wonder if Wordpress as backbone, might not be the better way to go though?
At the moment the foundation of my site is evolving from TTG Pages.
However, I want to use TTG Wordpress as the backbone for two or three of the pages within my site.
What is the sensible way to manage this?
It would certainly be nice to manage content from one Dashboard, with one set of Plugin installs etc.
Does that imply going down the 'Networked' Wordpress route?
(or, and I'm thinking allowed now ... can't I have two pages, one Static and one Blog, from within the one TTG WP theme - which will also integrate with other TTG Pages pages?)
is there a way to see these revisions visually? (all I'm seeing is a load of code)
thanks for the tips
is there anyway to SAVE a post/theme/layout - so if I have it nice and then mess it up, I can get back again - also to use as a template for another post later on?
yes but sometimes the text will only stay above or below the image, amongst other frustrations
if it's really just that simple, I guess I'll keep at it
I want my blog to look very similar to the example you get in the Appearance Pane with .... Single Post w/images.
I want image left, text right in first post, then image right and text left in the next post and so on.
(I had this sorted a few days ago, now I'm all lost again.)
Whats the easy way?
Is there recommended Plugin for general and simple layout help for newbie CSS style sheet wimps?
Thanks
Ok, thanks I'll give it another go.
