On a different site, the BL2 update went fine. all of my pages appear in the appropriate admin sections. however, when i visit the homepage in a browser it is blank (no error). url is www.joliverbrooks.com
thoughts? i updated all albums and cleared template cache.
Thanks. I have PHP 5.6. I updated the albums, which said it worked., however designer, pages, etc still say it is unable to upgrade to version 1.2.2 with the same error.
i updated one site to backlight 2 with no problems. another site in a different directory gives me an error.
I ran the updater correctly, but when i went to the pages section to update, i got the error:
Backing up databases...
Backed up master.sq3
Upgrading to version 1.2.2...
Configuring localizations
Unable to upgrade to version 1.2.2
Error message: SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 1 no such table: localisation_master
I get the same for templates.
All of my templates and pages are listed, but the site doesn't load of course.
(i left custom and data in place, as instructed)
thoughts?
(i had emailed matt, but then i realized i wasn't sure what his hours are and it may be better in support).
Today marked a new version of Lightroom, considerately called Lighroom CC (the old version is now Lightroom Classic). the new one has a number of changes of course, but among them seem to be the absence of plugins.
Is this really one of their changes? It excludes BackLight (and all of there plug ins if so...)
ok. i thought i had disabled that. that fixed it. (red was the test color). )blush(
i tried changing the navigation background color in
navigation -> horizontal navigation -> background color.
none of the colors i select seem to change the background. however, changing the hover color seems to work fine....
thoughts?
ok. thanks. i had that but then read that /public_html was the only place it should be. this should fix the issue.
(i'll just use actual URL's for simplicity)
my primary domain on bluehost is joliverbrooks.com. i have another site i want to host called notfromyourtribe.net.
i have on instance of backlight installed in /public_html/backlight
notfromyourtribe.net is an add-on domain at bluehost with Addon Directory: public_html/nfyt
Addon Parent: The domain notfromyourtribe.net is aliased to nfyt.joliverbrooks.com
now,
If the publisher API URL is www.notfromyourtribe.net/backlight/publisher then i get "Error performing function. (Code: 500)."
however the publisher API URL www.firstsite.com/backlight/publisher authenticates.
what did i get wrong?
thanks. but in publisher do i set it to www.secondsite.com/public_html/backlight/publisher
if so, then how do i direct the DNS at bluehost? right now it would point to www.firstsite.com/secondsite
Firstsite.com is the primary site. Previously I had placed other sites in subdirectories. Do I need to do that with backlight?
i have my site hosted with bluehost. i have backlight in /public_html.
in lightroom, the publisher is set to (e.g.) www.firstsite.com/public_html/backlight/publisher
to set up another site, do i just direct the publisher in lightroom to www.secondsite.com/public_html/backlight/publisher?
i'm afraid to try as i don't want to screw up my first site that is working fine. but i want to create a second site.
my apologies if this was covered. i searched and couldn't find it in the blog.
thanks
john
life has returned to normal.
thanks very much matthew, ben, and rod.
i must have screwed up the upload somehow.
now....off to change to pangolin style....
i'm not sure. i think i moved some things when trying to fix yesterday's issue.
what do i need to do to reset it and upload the albums again?
when i was trying to fix things, i had changed the API url, but then changed it back to the original.
currently it is http://www.joliverbrooks.com/backlight/publisher/
it authenticates.
i should add that when i look at albums under backlight publisher, it still thinks there are 9 albums (with names). however those directories don't exist. something must have gotten confused when i deleted the files to update.
Thanks. much
I must have inadvertently delated something. i do have pages and uploaded that directory.
BUT
i can now get the admin page to work fine, but my site doesn't work.
i trued re-uploading 4 albums from LR, which thinks it uploaded them. But i don't know where it put them and they don't show up on my page.
if i uncheck the push meta-data box in TTG publisher in lightroom i get this error:
Unable to perform action: uploadRendition
Message: path was not found: /home1/joliver1/public_html/galleries/sequence-1-solitude
I used to have 9 albums. (i still do in LR, but they don't seem to upload). did i delete something else accidentally?
i resent the log in info
thanks matthew. i put everything back in public_html.
i have re-uploaded the update several times and it still seems to not work. (TTG publisher from lightroom uploaded my galleries again). i'll email my ftp info. appreciate the assistance.
don't know what i did, as all the other upgrades have been uneventful.
also, the readme says
1. **Remove and re-upload the following files and directories:**
* backlight/admin/
* backlight/designer/
* backlight/framework/
* backlight/publisher/
* backlight/modules/module-pages/
* backlight/modules/okapi-core/
* backlight/modules/standard-album/
* backlight/modules/standard-album-set/
* backlight/modules/standard-page/
yet in the 1.2 update the following directories are not included in the download
* backlight/modules/standard-album/
* backlight/modules/standard-album-set/
* backlight/modules/standard-page/
i've now moved backlight to joliverbrooks.com/public_html/
i still cannot get the regular backlight admin page (http://joliverbrooks.com/backlight/admin/) even though i have uploaded the new files three times.
i just did that. it still shows the admin page as an outline.
i could move the backlight directory back up to /public_html , though i had the same problem there.
weird, as i only dragged over the directories as instructed. it worked fine in the past.
i re-uploaded the 1.2 files to http://joliverbrooks.com/job/backlight/
i still get the outline view of the admin page.
(my site doesn't load at all, but this could be because i cannot clear caches etc)
the admin page now looks like this:
Backlight
Dashboard
TTG Backlight version: 1.2.0
Quick Links
Backlight Settings
Manage Users
Special Links
View PHP Info
List PHP modules
phpLiteAdmin
yes. i did. then i though perhaps if i just kept my directory structure cleaner it would be better. within public_html, i host a few domains. i moved my backlight folder (previously at /public_html) to /public_html/job. i edited the directory in the lightroom publisher to http://www.joliverbrooks.com/job/backlight/publisher/ . it authenticates fine.
i tried re-uploading from lightroom and got the error
Unable to perform action: uploadRendition
Message: path was not found: /home1/joliver1/public_html/job/galleries/sequence-1-solitude
shouldn't TTG publisher create this directory?
i can still get to the outline form of the admin log in. i can move the updated files over again, but i actually deleted each and then copied over from the readMe. (using the latest hot fix files if that matters)
i followed the 1.2 update instructions. now when i log into my admin page, the admin page seems to have lost all formatting. that is, it is displayed just as a hierarchical list on the page. there are no menus etc as before.
when i go to my actual url, i get 'index page not found'
help?
ok. thanks. that fixed it.
but, is it not possible then to have a tray on the search page since editing the tray is not possible from publisher settings? or do i create a special album template for this search page and include the text i want in the template?
thanks. it works.
my search page seems to persist even though i have changed the page copy. i have cleared the template cache and that didn't change anything.
it takes changes to the main copy i make under publisher, but when i change the page copy (for tray 1) under Pages->Search in BL, the changes are not reflected (hence the default content of the sidebar. i tried changing to the default template rather than my own and this does not change (even after clearing template cache).
curiously, if i choose 'view page' in BL, the page displays with the correct content (though without the search box). i've tried in different browsers as well.
thoughts?
Is there anyway to get the search to look for keywords instead of just photograph names? I'm not sure if the Lightroom keywords are uploaded in BL.
, but t this would be a great feature if it isn't already there.
