I threw in the comment about Bootstrap as an aside and you picked up on it, -you're a smart guy, Matthew. heheheh. And what you said about keeping it with CSS and javascript and jQuery is right on!
Rounded corners, animations, etc. is a possibility. Now that you've given me a wink, I know where to go in my coding. And perhaps I need to look into PHPlugins since I haven't learned about how to use those hook functions, yet. Thanks for everything, Matthew!
Thanks, Ben. Thanks, Matthew. -and also thanks again, -Rod.
I think I will go back to the TTG Wordpress Add-on so my questionnaire contact form page looks like the rest of my Backlight site, ..and then use something like Contact Form 7 from there.
I'm eagerly awaiting the [next version of Backlight] ...people like me do rub two pennies together to try to get three,
and I'm sure others want to share what they have to help get things like contact forms to go from cool, to excellent..
I understand what you're saying, Rod and Ben. And certainly don't want to give you guys and Matthew more to deal with than is already in the pipeline.
I'm just wanting to add to my contact form: the ability to add checkboxes, change the size of the reply text box, maybe populate the text area with some populated text as a suggestion to the user instead of having the "Name: ______" area and change the appearance so the suggestion "name" appears within the text box where users type and not outside and left of the text box, ....other html5 things like animations coded in CSS, javascript, bootstrap, or other. -I just want to make it prettier than it already is and add checkboxes and make my contact form be more cool.
I right away understood and agree with what you said, Ben. ..about editing the ....../contact.php and the fact that they wouldn't be picked up by hard coding upon hitting the Submit button. I'm just wanting to see if I can do CSS animations, rounded corners to the user text boxes, possibly change html contact form checkmarks to some graphics checkmarks I create in Photoshop. ..just trying to push the TTG contact form further.
Thank you all so much for the work you're doing. -It's quite awesome and I love it as I'm sure all the users love the change away from CE and over to the Backlight way you guys have coded. -Thanks, and if you have something to add to my reply, do it but know I'll not try to post any hacks to the system that would confuse other TTG users. Thanks, again!
Rod, you're awesome, as always! FAST, too. I'll look into your hints and let you know what I find out.

I'd like to edit my Backlight > Designer > Contact Form
I want to make a form myself by going into Backlight and add code directly
to the "Extra Fields" section.
I want to do more and code radio buttons, checkmarks, animation
and design a better-looking HTML5 feature-rich contact form.
Where can I grab that file and code it raw without going through the
Backlight interface? If I can see what it's doing now, I feel I can
make the changes I want with html, a markdown editor or other code.
I have the TTG Wordpress add-on but I never enjoyed Wordpress
and I just want to edit my contact form directly with TTG somehow,
-is that possible without leaving the TTG structure?
..gary in Austin
I've been using TTG since CE2, CE3, CE4 and Backlight, and I love what
you guys are doing. You've been so helpful though the years. I used to
code contact forms in Pearl or I edited sendmail.pl years ago.
-I can code and test my form and let you know the results to help the
next build of Backlight.
Bingo, that was it. I overlooked that option in Top Pallet.
-Must be way past my bedtime.
Thank you, Rod!
Is there a way to disable search completely in Backlight 1.2.2?
I want my masthead to go all the way to the top of the browser window (without having the search icon.)
-I tried erasing all the items in "Edit Publisher Settings" but the magnifying glass still appears when testing my site.
I started over a fresh download and install of Backlight + Pages and this problem is now fixed.
..corrupted file somewhere on my end was causing the issue.
[problem solved]
Thank you, Rod!
-Incredible, I had looked over that so many times but I was pointing to my main website and not the top level of my Backlight. Quick and easy. I couldn't see it, ..but you did. Thank you again, so much!

This is an update to my main folder /GaryBrackin_Photography_and_Video
I updated the Backlight + Pages 1.1.1 and the specific directories described by the instructions when updating Backlight.
I did visit Designer, Publisher and it did not show that it was being updated like it usually does.
I did refresh templates. Should I back up and redo something? -Since my source code is looking in the wrong place for my css, as you mentioned in your response post.
http://www.graphicresolutions.com/GaryB … galleries/
I downloaded a fresh install of Backlight 1.1.1 and my pages and my Backlight login and pages work fine, but
they have lost their look, lost my top Navigation and moved it to the footer, black background and dynamic fluid behaviors are gone.
I updated Backlight+Pages the standard way as described in the documentation below and Cleared Template Cache.
But My .css does not change any when I go to my Design Template -> Advanced Customization and turn Custom Stylesheet on or off, ..or if I choose the custom-sample.css (nothing makes it work like it should, I just get a white background, thumbnails don't move when I change window size)
It may be some sort of .htaccess error somewhere, because if I look at the Apple Web Inspector, I'm getting lots of 404 errors for things like: font-awesome, my css that is GBPV_pages_custom.css, the logo I use in my header,
/backlight/publisher/resource.php?template=9&extenstion=js&name=scaffolding
If it makes it any easier- I can give you access to my FTP, if tell me how.
-Thanks
gary in austin, tx
I unpacked a fresh install and followed these instructions and normally works fine, but one of my .htaccess files may be the issue.
_____________
=== To update to Backlight+Pages 1.1.1: ====
IMPORTANT: Do NOT replace the entire backlight directory! Doing so will remove ALL data and settings!
1. **Remove and re-upload the following files and directories:**
* backlight/admin/
* backlight/designer/
* backlight/framework/
* backlight/publisher/
* backlight/modules/module-pages/
* backlight/modules/okapi-core/
* backlight/modules/standard-album/
* backlight/modules/standard-album-set/
* backlight/modules/standard-page/
_____________
Hi, Ben.
I had not uploaded that folder since I first purchased Backlight + Pages back in May.
I did just upload it now and it does have the code you described.
Still, not working.
I don't mind uploading my older folder /backlight/modules/standard-page
because when I do, my site works. But if you want access to my website
you can email me at: gary@graphicresolutions.com
Oh, and I don't think it matters, possibly it does for permissions
-I'm on a Mac and the FTP software is Transmission and the permissions for that file
IPageDataModel.php has permissions set to 644.
Thanks, Ben.
So, I've been able to recreate this error when doing fresh pristine downloaded and installed Backlight +Pages and the issue
always happens when I upload the folder: /backlight/modules/standard-page
When I upload the newest "standard-page folder" the error reoccurs.
When I upload an older folder I had backed up a few months ago, the error is gone and everything works great.
Here is the error that new folder is giving:
Something went wrong
Unexpected error: Interface 'IPageDataModel' not found in StandardPageDataModel.php on line 7
Please report error at http://community.theturninggate.net
And here is the link to my Top-Galleries as the error now shows upon uploading the newest folder and this folder is the issue ../backlight/modules/standard-page
http://www.graphicresolutions.com/GaryB … galleries/
And if you would like to see my website's landing page, it is not TTG -but it does point to everything I've done with TTG.
http://graphicresolutions.com
Thanks, Rod. Yes, I did and always do clear all the template caches.
The issue I have; as detailed in my posts above only occurs within the /backlight/modules/standard-page
where updating the ...standard-page wipes out my template and only gives me a generic white page with gallery thumbnails
one thumbnail below the other all to the left and have none of my design templates applied.
I've done this multiple times and have installed freshly downloaded the newest Backlight + TTG Pages
and this one folder, upon upload to my server -creates the issue. It's not a big issue with me since I know
where the problem is and perhaps, I'll move over to a new host server, BlueHost.
I know not to upload the entire ..../backlight folder and just replace things talked about in the documents to update to Backlight 1.1 I think; perhaps it's something on my host server or who knows what? But I'm fine with sticking to uploading my older .../backlight/modules/standard-page For whatever the cause or reason, I've found this "standard-page" to cause my TTG Top-Galleries template to be ignored. And it may be my host server that is www.hostgator.com that I've been with for 4 years. It expires in a month and I'm happy using TTG, so -perhaps next month I'll move over to BlueHost. -
I downloaded a fresh copy of Backlight 1.1 + Pages
and replaced files as instructed by the documentation
and everything works great, just but for one folder on my server within /backlight/modules/standard-page.
If I replace that specific ..../standard-page folder on my server with the new download, my Top-Galleries
turn to a plain white background and get a generic look. My Top-Galleries loose all their center-align and colors
and any design from my templates.
It's not a big deal because I can upload my older folder /backlight/modules/standard-page
I backed up off my server, -and things work great. I may just keep that single older folder as it is.
-I've loving Backlight, by the way...
You may be right, Matthew. I'll go back and download my purchase, fresh and I'll try again to see if it's corruption or if I can recreate that error. Sounds like it's my server host, my FTP client, or something I'm doing or not doing.
Give a few suggestions but don't spend a lot of your time. I'll try again. Thanks!
-> And so I uploaded Backlight + Pages 1.1, again and I reloaded my galleries page every time I uploaded one of the new modules folder. -And everything worked along the way in my /modules folder (until I uploaded the standard-page folder)
So, this is within being logged into Backlight.
So, outside of Backlight and just viewing my website
viewers get an error:
"Something went wrong
Unexpected error: Interface 'IPageDataModel' not found in StandardPageDataModel.php on line 7"
I had a corrupted file ...[problem solved]
I started over a fresh download and install of Backlight + Pages and this problem is now fixed.
..corrupted file somewhere on my end was causing the issue.
[problem solved]
-But here is what I wrote, in case anybody wants to read it for the replies...
I updated Backlight to 1.1 and when I login and go to Designer,
and these sections: Pages, Menu Sets
-I get the error
Something went wrong
Unable to continue due to XML errors in XMLHelper.php on line 38
-Did I do something wrong or not upload something I should have?
I am trying to add another menu set on the mast navigation bar within my Top-level Galleries
that will have a video section, now that I've bought TTG Theater 103.
Ah Ha! You were correct, Rod!
By going to Publisher -> Top-level Galleries and then to Albums, I had a mix of my custom templates and the standard templates.
And going into Designer ->Templates I had chosen Standard Template on one of them instead of my custom one (for ALL of them). Once I choose these correctly, I'm sure everything will be great again. Thanks so much, Rod.
I'm using my correct template. I tried going under Design Template and choosing the "Backlight Standard Page" but that wasn't it. Also tried, going back to the default .css and that was not the issue, either.
Do you think I need to reinstall some part of Backlight on my server, or maybe it's a permissions issue?
http://www.graphicresolutions.com/GaryB … galleries/
Under Album settings -> Large Image Presentation -> Presentation Type
I have chosen Photoswipe but on tablets and phones; there is no photoswipe ability, -it just displays a single image.
On desktop computers the forward and back arrows are not showing up.
I've cleared the Backlight Template Cache and my browser's cache.
..any suggestions?
You could delete whatever past files and folders you don't need. But I choose to leave most of them in place on my server. I've been a TTG user since CE2 and I decided to leave all those galleries and ftp folders there in case if my past clients ever want to revisit their shoots or their hidden galleries I gave them private links to their shoots. I won't be using these folders since I created a new folder for my current website when I moved over to Backlight. But still, I want past customers to still have access to their old shoots with me, even though it's not something that can be navigated when new people see my website.
Perfect. Yea, tray 01 I'll have specific info to each shoot and tray 02 I'll be able to add call-to-action info.
It's gonna be great. Thanks for your helpful suggestions, Rod and Matthew. And Ben has been hard at work, too.
I love Backlight. --Awesome!
Rod- This explains so much how to do exactly what I want to do.
And you're right, I was having to create a different page for each template when I was using CE4
and your suggestion with Tray 01 when using Backlight is gonna make things much easier!
You're awesome, man.
Thanks so much!
Yea, my tray 02 has "ipsum lorem" because I plan to have info there for each photoshoot. It will be things like credits for each individual shoot, makeup, assistants, ..info for clients (when TTG CRG is developed) and other text I'll have for each specific gallery.
And just now I turned on the Photoswipe feature. I was using the "single-images pages" last night just to see what it does
because my thinking was people on a real computer can't touch their screen to Photoswipe.
-What I want, I had but not sure how to get it back -is once inside each gallery with large images, I used to have a forward
and back arrow( for now, until there is a slideshow feature). Thanks so much Matthew, -Backlight is so far, super-awesome!
