I had a corrupted file ...[problem solved]
I started over a fresh download and install of Backlight + Pages and this problem is now fixed.
..corrupted file somewhere on my end was causing the issue.
[problem solved]
-But here is what I wrote, in case anybody wants to read it for the replies...
I updated Backlight to 1.1 and when I login and go to Designer,
and these sections: Pages, Menu Sets
-I get the error
Something went wrong
Unable to continue due to XML errors in XMLHelper.php on line 38
-Did I do something wrong or not upload something I should have?
I am trying to add another menu set on the mast navigation bar within my Top-level Galleries
that will have a video section, now that I've bought TTG Theater 103.

Maybe a corrupted upload. Try reloading the files from a freshly unpacked copy of Backlight.

-> And so I uploaded Backlight + Pages 1.1, again and I reloaded my galleries page every time I uploaded one of the new modules folder. -And everything worked along the way in my /modules folder (until I uploaded the standard-page folder)
So, this is within being logged into Backlight.
So, outside of Backlight and just viewing my website
viewers get an error:
"Something went wrong
Unexpected error: Interface 'IPageDataModel' not found in StandardPageDataModel.php on line 7"

You may be right, Matthew. I'll go back and download my purchase, fresh and I'll try again to see if it's corruption or if I can recreate that error. Sounds like it's my server host, my FTP client, or something I'm doing or not doing.
Give a few suggestions but don't spend a lot of your time. I'll try again. Thanks!

I downloaded a fresh copy of Backlight 1.1 + Pages
and replaced files as instructed by the documentation
and everything works great, just but for one folder on my server within /backlight/modules/standard-page.
If I replace that specific ..../standard-page folder on my server with the new download, my Top-Galleries
turn to a plain white background and get a generic look. My Top-Galleries loose all their center-align and colors
and any design from my templates.
It's not a big deal because I can upload my older folder /backlight/modules/standard-page
I backed up off my server, -and things work great. I may just keep that single older folder as it is.
-I've loving Backlight, by the way...

did you remember to finish the upgrade process by visiting the Backlight, Designer, and Publisher dashboards and then clearing the template cache?

Thanks, Rod. Yes, I did and always do clear all the template caches.
The issue I have; as detailed in my posts above only occurs within the /backlight/modules/standard-page
where updating the ...standard-page wipes out my template and only gives me a generic white page with gallery thumbnails
one thumbnail below the other all to the left and have none of my design templates applied.
I've done this multiple times and have installed freshly downloaded the newest Backlight + TTG Pages
and this one folder, upon upload to my server -creates the issue. It's not a big issue with me since I know
where the problem is and perhaps, I'll move over to a new host server, BlueHost.
I know not to upload the entire ..../backlight folder and just replace things talked about in the documents to update to Backlight 1.1 I think; perhaps it's something on my host server or who knows what? But I'm fine with sticking to uploading my older .../backlight/modules/standard-page For whatever the cause or reason, I've found this "standard-page" to cause my TTG Top-Galleries template to be ignored. And it may be my host server that is www.hostgator.com that I've been with for 4 years. It expires in a month and I'm happy using TTG, so -perhaps next month I'll move over to BlueHost. -

It's a weird one since I believe all design settings are saved in the database. Something for Matt and Ben to chew over, that's for sure.

I don't think there's cause here to migrate hosts.
Can you provide a link to one of these pages or galleries that's causing a problem with the update. I'd like to see whatever there is to see.

So, I've been able to recreate this error when doing fresh pristine downloaded and installed Backlight +Pages and the issue
always happens when I upload the folder: /backlight/modules/standard-page
When I upload the newest "standard-page folder" the error reoccurs.
When I upload an older folder I had backed up a few months ago, the error is gone and everything works great.
Here is the error that new folder is giving:
Something went wrong
Unexpected error: Interface 'IPageDataModel' not found in StandardPageDataModel.php on line 7
Please report error at http://community.theturninggate.net
And here is the link to my Top-Galleries as the error now shows upon uploading the newest folder and this folder is the issue ../backlight/modules/standard-page
http://www.graphicresolutions.com/GaryB … galleries/
And if you would like to see my website's landing page, it is not TTG -but it does point to everything I've done with TTG.

Hi Gary, is the file backlight/designer/application/models/IPageDataModel.php uploaded to your server and does it have the following contents?
<?php
defined('APP_DIR') or die('No direct script access allowed in ' . __FILE__);
interface IPageDataModel
{
public function getMenuItemsToPrepend();
public function getMenuItemsToAppend();
}
If not, try uploading that file. I would expect others hadn't uploaded either. What FTP client are you using?

Hi, Ben.
I had not uploaded that folder since I first purchased Backlight + Pages back in May.
I did just upload it now and it does have the code you described.
Still, not working.
I don't mind uploading my older folder /backlight/modules/standard-page
because when I do, my site works. But if you want access to my website
you can email me at: gary@graphicresolutions.com
Oh, and I don't think it matters, possibly it does for permissions
-I'm on a Mac and the FTP software is Transmission and the permissions for that file
IPageDataModel.php has permissions set to 644.
Thanks, Ben.

Hi Gary, I'm not sure what's going on. Can you provide me with an FTP login via the Email link under my name so that I can look into this?
