Done!! Wow, thanks for the help.  Rod, my friend, thanks for your patience.

After a review of all my email files from Saturday, I only received an email from Paypal confirming the purchase.  I received nothing from Turning gate so I do not have the correct order number for Backlight 3.

Matt,

Everything is back.  It does not offer me an upgrade line however.

I know this should not be this difficult. I just can't figure it out.  I guess I am just too much a rookie to be working with these things.  I apologize for taking so much of your time as well as spending more hours than I care to.

Rod,

Thanks for the update issues.  I did find the zip extension in my php to be un checked.  Once I did that I was able to do the update.  However, the installed versions start with 2.0.  Should it not be 3?

#9 Re: Backlight 3 Support » For me its a struggle » 2020-05-03 23:54:34

Matt,

I followed your instructions and I get an error message that the zip is unsupported.  Now my modules are gone.

I pay GoDaddy for backups, I will check with them.  Sorry about my confusion.

#13 Re: Backlight 3 Support » For me its a struggle » 2020-05-03 06:28:34

I just went there and now it says no modules were found

#15 Re: Backlight 3 Support » For me its a struggle » 2020-05-03 06:25:34

then I get this:

our host does not provide support for the ZipArchive PHP package.

This is required by the Backlight 2 installer. Either enable this module via your host's Control Panel, or contact your host's technical support for assistance.

I am already on 2.  When I go to the installer is says backlight 2.  Should it say 3?

I don't see the htpaccess file on my list though

Rod,
I have uploaded the files for 3 using my FTP transfer app.  I have tried to use the installer but it only says update for backlight 2.  Where do I find my order number?

I am following the guidelines on the site for installing Backlight 3.  Its just not getting me there.  Everytime I try an update is says Backlight 2.  Am I missing something?

I fixed it now.  Thanks for your help.

I am a relative newbie.  Where do I create the thumbnails?

#22 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Image size » 2019-11-14 00:53:55

I guess I am not following your thoughts.  I adjusted this mage to match the others yet it still posts larger.  This is the same on my home page as well as the gallery page.  www.newdawnphotography.com

I posted a new gallery with a listing on my home page.  I copied the info from another gallery and yet the image that posts as the gallery image is larger than the other two.  I used the exact same size and format but do not know why the size differential.  www.newdawnphotography.com.

#24 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Cannot delete and add an album. » 2019-04-08 01:49:24

Rod,

I guess I am making progress.  The album I deleted yesterday that was still there, is now gone.  I created a new album and everything uploaded as it should.  However, the new album does not show on the list when I look at the galleries section.  When I click on album List, there is the album.  It is in the menu listing for every page except galleries.  I'm not sure why this is doing this.   The album is Avian and is listed under the galleries tab on every page except the galleries page.  any thoughts on how to fix this?

I had an issue with a Hack earlier and was able to get that taken care of by my Host, GoDaddy.  I was then unable to upload to a gallery.  They forgot to put my IP address in play.  They fixed it and now the uploads are working.  I went in to delete an album and add a new one.  I deleted all the photos first and then went to delete the album.  The album does not show in my albums list but it does show under galleries.  I tried to redelete the images from the album, i get a message that the content is not there even though I can see the images in the album.  When I try to delete the images it puts me back to the previous page showing the galleries.  When I try to delete the album, once again, it puts me back a page.  I uploaded a new gallery.  It shows in my FTP files but does not show up in the galleries section.  any help?
