It's been a while, so I don't remember the particulars, but the code Charlie Mentions is in the root .htaccess file.  Have to modify it with a code editor.  It is in the section Charlie said, and I don't recall how I determined where within the section to put it, but it is on lines 45 and 46 of the file, if that is any help.

Okay, I'm an idiot.  I discovered that I had deleted /modules/pangolin-page/ , but had not replaced it with the new folder.  All is well now.  Case closed.  At least we have discovered another way, besides Okapi Modules, that this error message can be generated.  On the bleeding edge of research!

#5 Re: Backlight Support » Error Message When Attempting to clear Template Cache » 2018-01-19 05:25:55

Okay, so I found EngineFactory.php:  ".../backlight/designer/application/helpers/EngineFactory.php" .  File appears to be intact.  However, there is no "template_home.php" anywhere.  This is the subject of the message:
"Unable to load template:  ./backlight/framework/../admin/application/views/templates/template_home.php" that appears when I try to launch the site.

I don't know what the ellipse refers to:  /framework/../admin/ but this might be what is missing, as I cannot find any folder in the "framework" folder that contains a folder named "admin".  Mayhaps I should replace the "framework" folder, eh?

Your link refers to Okapi modules, don't think that is the right place to look.

#8 Re: Backlight Support » Error Message When Attempting to clear Template Cache » 2018-01-18 17:03:08

Worse than I knew at first.  Something sure got blowed up.  I tried loading my site, and got this message instead:

Unable to load template: ./backlight/framework/../admin/application/views/templates/template_home.php

Pretty sure I did just what the update instructions said to do:  remove folders and replace them.  Although it sure looks like I probably did something while updating, can't swear to it, because I didn't try loading the site before I started updating, and it has been a few days since I actually looked at it.  On the 11th, my web host did a patch on the server that had to do with Spectre and Meltdown, and I might not have looked at my site since.  Not very likely this had anything to do with it, but just saying.  Subdomains stil work.

So it would appear that some part or parts of Backlight got corrupted or removed.  Hoping I can fix it without starting over again.

Hello,
Uploaded new files for Backlight Pages 123 Release 4, and when I attempted to clear the Template Cache, I got this error message:

Unexpected error: Call to a member function getPath() on a non-object in EngineFactory.php on line 241

Never saw this before.

#10 Re: Backlight Support » Shift Masthead Image Left? and Changes to home page » 2017-11-27 10:42:35

Okay, nevermind about Footer changes showing up.  I have a custom footer, and I was barking up the wrong tree.  I should start documenting all these changes I make.  When I changed the custom footer php, changes showed up right away.  Now I need to see what's up with the Masthead

Hello,
Is there any way to shift a Masthead image (as in "Replace the site title with an image" to the right-hand edge of the screen?  The only thing I see is "Title/Logo Alignment" which is set to "Left", but the image is centered on the screen.

Also, what do I have to do to get changes to this page to show up right away?  I changed the copyright start date in the Footer, and I don't see the new date anywhere.  I cleared the Designer Cache, and cleared the cache on my browser, but I still see the old date, not the new one.

Yes, I get that.  Maybe I will just be content with watermarks and metadata.  Never really thought of it as purposefully breaking the browser, but I see it.

Thanks Matthew and Charlie.  I'll give it a go.  (I've been a little preoccupied).

Has anybody ever tried disabling right click on jpgs, presenting a message that this image is copyrighted?  I know this can be gotten around, but at least it would slow those who would rip you off.  I have found javascript online that does so, and I suppose it can be incorporated into the php file, but have not seen anybody actually do it.  Except 500px, who does do it.

Should be noted that if you don't have https, when you login to your admin page, you are sending your username and password in the clear.

Thanks for the help, gentlemen.  I don't know how LR got so messed up.  I am having to delete and re-publish a number of albums, because the published album and LR are no longer synchronized, and the only way to fix it seems to be to delete the album in Backlight admin and start over.

Nevermind.  Figured it out.  Wrong album was inserted as homepage.  Don't know how that happened, perhaps when I deleted the album before re-uploading it, Backlight just went and found something else to insert.  Anyway, all good now.

OK. That worked fine, as far as publishing the album.  It is the home page theater presentation, and it works fine when viewing the album as https://randyhoffner.com/galleries/Pangolin-Theater/, but when I call up the site, the home page is a blank page.

Well, not a blank page, but the photos are not displayed.

Great!  I'll do that and report results.

OK.  I removed all the photos from the Theater album with LR and when I look on the server, there is still one photo, October Rainbow2, still in the folder.  Looking at the Theater album with ?fullAlbumData appended shows that photo is still there.  I sent you an admin login, and would be interested in learning how you remove that photo.  I think it could possibly happen again on other albums.

Hi Ben,

Right.  Makes sense.  I will do as you suggest.  And thanks, Matt, for that info.

Thanks

Yes, on the moon.  Ah, yes, should have looked at the developer tools, shouldn't I?  I restored that image (that was my fault).  Now it is running, but still repeats a number of images in the middle of the sequence, as I described in post #16.

Plays the first 15 images, then repeats 10 images from the middle of the sequence, then plays the final, 16th image.  Where would I look to see what sets up that sequence?

I remembered I did have the files.  re-installed Theater 1.2.2, no change.  Removed that and installed Theater 1.2.1, no change.  Removed the image the slideshow stopped on, stopped on the next image.  Re-installed 1.2.2.  https://randyhoffner.com

...and now, the slideshow is getting stuck.  Freezing on the same image each time.  WTF?
