#2 Backlight 2 Support » Left Pallet Not Showing Inline Image » 2020-05-04 22:01:29

This is the code that I inserted into Pages>Contact>Page Copy>Pallet01Copy.

<img src=" /blnewsite.davidbuddphotography.com/backlight/custom/img/treesunrise.jpg" width="300" alt="treesunrise">

The result is that just a blank frame shows with a "?" and the alt attribute.

The website is a sub-domain at the root level.

Thanks

#3 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Issue Deleting Albums » 2020-04-20 17:52:12

The issue has been solved.

I recently changed my hosting service and noticed that the PHP was 5.6. Changing it to ver.7.00 has now cleared the page.

Unable to completely delete a album or image/s from a album via LR publisher. The layout is still visible with a icon in the corner turned over.

Deleting the album template makes no difference.

In the Backlight Publisher the album or images show as deleted. The template and browser caches have been cleared and the browser restarted.

I tried Matt's suggestion http://community.theturninggate.net/vie … hp?id=6396 making sure there was no underscore in the slug but I couldn't get to work.

Instead, I exported a 300px cover image to the custom thumbnail folder which worked, except the image now looks a lot smaller than 300px.

Rod...I was just going round and round in circles and not getting anywhere and decided to delete everything and start again.

I will use your suggestions and refresh myself with the documentation again after a good  nights sleep and a fresh mind.

Again, thanks for your help.

I'm using Safari and it appears the "empty caches" is not clearing every time. After a restart and logged out of BL the "hidden album" is no longer visible... so a win there!

#8 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Linking Image to a Album » 2020-04-15 23:28:49

In LR publisher I have Africa as the Album Set and in there is a Album called Rwanda.

While log in, if I click on the "hidden album: (Rwanda) that takes me to the thumbnails, which is fine.

The problem is I can't see the the large thumbnail that should be on the first level, the Album Set.

Even when I log out the hidden album is still visible.

In LR publisher I have Album-Features, "hide from album set and search ticked

I've cleared both the caches

Just the one at present...later six will be the total.

#11 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Linking Image to a Album » 2020-04-15 22:47:18

Selecting the Cover Image in the Albums Set and setting the thumbnails to 300px the only image that appears is the "hidden album".

Any suggestions on what could be the problem?

Can those specific images be assigned from within the album template?

I would like to link these six images to their respective albums, rather than than using a drop down menu.

I had something similar in my TTG-CE4 website but can't quite figure it out if it's possible in Backlight.

#15 Re: Backlight Support » Horizontal Navigation » 2020-04-09 10:32:10

Thank you Rod..you have saved the day, again!

The Float was set to "Left". Setting it to "None" centred the Navigation

Thanks Rod,

I already had that set but it makes no difference to the placement of the navigation bar. I've cleared the BL and browsers caches.

Is it possible to centre the navigation menu's in the top pallet?

#18 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Photo Image Presentation » 2019-03-11 17:09:33

Thanks Rod...decided to go with the Album which seems the more logical solution for the time being.

I see Matt has come up with a solution for the next update...thanks Matt.

#19 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Photo Image Presentation » 2019-03-07 23:31:52

Rod...What I want to do is to go back to this page http://davidbuddphotography.com/BLnewsite/prints/, rather than this
http://davidbuddphotography.com/BLnewsi … /index.php which happens if I use the Slideshow option

On the Single-Image Pages, the exit icon (X) instead of returning to the previous page it goes to the gallery, unlike the Slideshow option which returns to the previous  page.

http://davidbuddphotography.com/BLnewsite/prints/

Is there a solution to this since I prefer the text layout in the Single - Image Page.

Thanks

#21 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Album Settings - Borders » 2019-02-28 23:45:19

TextEdit was the problem. Formatted it in TextWrangler and now working OK....happy life. big_smile

Your book of choice CSS: The Missing Manual sounds like a good investment.

#22 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Album Settings - Borders » 2019-02-28 23:20:35

I used TextEdit ( Mac) and just typed in as per your sample...bit of a mystery that.

Anyway, will give it another shot...and hopefully no stuff-up's this time.

Thanks again for all your help.

#23 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Album Settings - Borders » 2019-02-28 15:01:11

Rod, I enabled both Advanced Customization's for the page template that contains the album and uploaded the .css file to backlight/custom/css.

I've cleared the cache and republished the two images, but there's no change to the size of the borders.

http://davidbuddphotography.com/BLnewsite/Prints/

As you can gather coding is not one of my strong points. If you could tell me I might be going wrong it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

#24 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Album Settings - Borders » 2019-02-27 22:09:04

Rod...after reading through the documentation I am unable to find this in the album template that I wish to edit.

Advanced Customization ⇒ Custom Stylesheet ⇒ Enabled : On
Advanced Customization ⇒ Custom Stylesheet ⇒ Include File : file-name.css

I gather I need to upload the .css examples you supplied to backlight/custom/ccs

Thanks
