Thank you for getting my orders straight
Thank you
Sent you the info
Side note just bought the WP module but used my new email address will this be an issue with the install?
Things were working yesterday and earlier today but now when I try to get to the backlight modules I get the following error message
Something went wrong
{"has_backlight":true}
Tonight I now have a new issue. When I try to go to the backlight modules I get the following error
Something went wrong
{"has_backlight":true}
Rod,
Think it's working now looks like it was the .htacess file
Rod,
I have done both numerous times and that has not helped. I transferred another site over last night and it works fine so it must be something within the setup for this site. The css file appears to be working as the background loads. I tried the custom css file and the page stays the same but with the expected red background.
I'm going to delete and start over again and do checks and as I import and change things to see where it breaks.
It looks like it has to do with the install.
I installed and had to change the menu to pages from url for the pages to work. When I went to the gallery it was a folder listing. After I created an album the gallery worked but I can't get to settings as they show page not found error
Trying to move the site to a new server. I did a fresh install imported the templates and images. installed the css and php scripts. The home page and all the pages work but the gallery looks like it's loading mobile pages. Don't know if it's something I did or didn't do or if it the hosting server causing the issue.
If someone could please take a look it that would be great. I had everything setup but deleted and started over again and this time I just setup bare minimum until things work or I dump the new hosting service.
New
old - that works
Got this error this morning for all pages.
Something went wrong
Unexpected error: PHP Startup: uploadprogress: Unable to initialize module Module compiled with module API=20131226 PHP compiled with module API=20151012 These options need to match in Unknown on line 0
Please report error at http://community.theturninggate.net
Changed PHP versions and reinstalled modules that see.med to help. Still would like to know what happened
It would be nice if Album Set thumbnails supported PNG and or GIF images. The PNG format would allow transparent portions of the image or LOGO in my case to show through instead of having to spend extra time making thumbnails for album sets with different backgrounds to make the site layout if I change the background on the site.
I have tried both and neither of them are found when configuring the thumbnail for an album set, only JPG images are found in the pul down menu.directory
Thanks Rod,
Thought I tried that earlier but I just did what you suggested and it worked. Thanks Again
Before the update this morning I had my slideshow running on my home page. Now after the update the slideshow is missing but if you click on the home page and pull the page down you can see it running behind the home page.
Ben,
It's working now I had to redo (update) the slideshow to get rid of the 404 error. I had everything working until the update to day and now the theater mode seem to have stopped working.
Ben,
When I copy the included index.php file I get the following error
Something went wrong
Unable to find the module module-theater.
Have you removed this from backlight/designer/modules? If so, either copy the module back, or change the template used by this album. in EngineFactory.php on line 404
I'm currently trying a fresh reinstall/upgrade - Same issue I keep getting the above error message after the fresh reinstall
Ok after the reinstall I removed the slideshow from the home page and the webpage loads now. When the slideshow using the theater module is included that is when I get the 404 error
With the included ,htaccess file and index.php file i get the following error
Something went wrong
Unable to find the module module-theater.
Have you removed this from backlight/designer/modules? If so, either copy the module back, or change the template used by this album. in EngineFactory.php on line 404
I have backed up the folder and I'm starting again from scratch without the theater module installed to see what happens. My home page does use the theater module so I suspect something will still be broken.
Yes per the upgrade instructions I deleted everything from the backlight folder except the data and custom directories.
I did have the same issue as other where I needed to change the PHP version but after fixing that it installed.
I have also tried reinstalling it again (multiple times) to include clearing out the folder and putting the backup data and custom directories back in place.
Yes I did the update of the albums and I have the Okapi modules installed
Will Do
Info sent to Ben
So after upgrading I now have a blank white page. The dashboard works but nothing is displayed on the home page. I have tried reinstalling BL2 with no change. Using php version 5.6.37
the following line is in the .htaccess file

Thanks Ben,
That seemed to do the trick
Did this no help
2. **Visit each of the Backlight, Designer and Publisher admin sections** to allow Backlight to run any
necessary database updates.
Reinstalled - same issue
It looks like the files under backlight/designer have not fully been updated. Try uploading that directory again.
I also get the error when ever I try to edit a page or template
I did the upgrade to 1.2.2 release2 from 1.2.0 and I have the following error
Unexpected error: Class StandardPageEngine contains 4 abstract methods and must therefore be declared abstract or implement the remaining methods (IPageEngine::setPageMode, IPageEngine::setIncludeMode, IPageEngine::isPageMode, ...) in StandardPageEngine.php on line 33
Followed the following
=== To update to Backlight+Pages 1.2.0: ====
IMPORTANT: Do NOT replace the entire backlight directory! Doing so will remove ALL data and settings!
1. **Remove and re-upload the following files and directories:**
* backlight/config.php
* backlight/env.php.skel
* backlight/admin/
* backlight/designer/
* backlight/framework/
* backlight/publisher/
* backlight/modules/module-pages
* backlight/modules/okapi-core
2. **Upload the following new directories:**
* backlight/modules/pangolin-core/
* backlight/modules/pangolin-album/
* backlight/modules/pangolin-album-set/
* backlight/modules/pangolin-page/
* TTG-Publisher.lrplugin
Ok that works for the album sets but what about the main gallery?
Found it buried in the backlight settings.
I'll catch flack but wish we had documentation
In CE4 you could adjust the order of the the way the albums displayed based on the slug name but it appears we have lost that control in backlight as all albums within an album set appear to be order alphabetically based on album name and I see no ability to adjust or change that behavior.
Matthew,
I didn't mean to imply that you must do additional coding and your correct you don't have to do any additional coding if your happy with the stock options that the product currently comes with. To add images to the pages you now need to code that into the page copy where in CE3 & CE4 it was part of the product for example. I haven't done any web coding in years so little stuff like that requires me to dust off the little gray cells to dig up the old school methods then research how to do it correctly in the modern times.
I really like the product and recommend it. It is much easier and faster to use than CE3 or CE4 it's also easy to setup different versions of your site so that if you wanted to change the look every couple of months you could do so in a matter of minutes or hours instead of days.
I added the search field and did some css stuff for the background, menus and images everything basically came from the forums. I took the examples tested them and then started modifying them to use on the site. I haven't done a lot of css changes but did have to do the ones I did, to get the look that I wanted. I was able to reduce some of the css after I figured out the use of the alpha channels in some of the settings. Once I learn more about the product and what it can really do, I may be able to remove some of the custom css I used as it might already be an option that I haven't figured out yet.
Backlight is a great product and will only get better after you start adding additional features and I bet you'll even start adding some of the extra stuff your users come up with that enhance the product.
At least you didn't mind the manual dig.
