Before the update this morning I had my slideshow running on my home page. Now after the update the slideshow is missing but if you click on the home page and pull the page down you can see it running behind the home page.

which slide show are you using? My test site has a galleria show on the home page and it's working.
Have you tried removing it and adding it back?

After an update, it may be helpful to click the "Clear Template Cache" link in the Designer menu. This updates any cached templates with whatever new changes have been implemented.
