As a side not related to my use of packages, can it be configured so a package can only be used once in a cart?
Seems to have worked. Thank you.
one other thing, are you using the latest version of Cart? 4.0.2
Yup, just purchased within the last week and that's the version I got.
since we can't see the back end, I suggest either posting guest Backlight credentials here or emailing admin Backlight credentials to Ben (include a link this topic).
Will do.
More troubleshooting. I tried enabling the default package and the deluxe package that come out-of-the-box. No luck there either. No button(s).
To see if it was a problem with just that template I enabled the Cart add-on for my default album template, created a new album in Lightroom using that template, and assigned the pricing profile in question. Still no luck.
Then I did the same thing again but with default, the out-of-the-box products / packages / profiles. Still no button. Cleared all caches in between too.
AND I tried disabling custom css and phplugins in my default page template in case those were interfering... nothing.
It's the same one because when I've made other Cart related changes they have worked, it's just the darn package button that I can't get to work.
Those are unused by this gallery so I didn't think it mattered. Added pricing anyway. Cleared all caches again, no button.
Also cleared designer Template Cache and Browser cache again. Also tried the "Reset the customer's cart in this browser" option for good measure and a different browser.\ No dice.
Also, singe items work. Only the Add Package button is missing.
Knew I forgot something. Lots to incuded.

Prices are filled out as per scheme screenshot. Tried adding shipping too. Will screenshot shortly.
I am unable to get the Add Photo Package button to show up in a Cart enable gallery. I have checked over the options again and again and can't find anything mis-configured, though there must be something. I have checked the doc and searched the forums. I have cleared my browser cache and the backlight cache between just about ever single change I made during troubleshooting.
The individual items show and can be added to the cart fine, but no package button anywhere.

And here are the settings.

Hmmm, interesting solution. I could work, but because it still requires manual steps (which can be forgotten) it's not perfect. A 'set it and forget it' approach is probably the only thing that could be fully trusted when it comes to the clients privacy.
At the moment I use client response but am probably switching to Cart for my new Backlight site (or at least going to use it equally as much) for delivering final client photos and allowing print orders.
I have a similar request and am wondering if it's possible to handle this at the Backlight server level as opposed to adding the overhead in the album set's within Lightroom / Publisher.
I want my main portfolio under /portfolio to be searchable, but I do not want anything under /clients to be searchable. As it stands the photo search seems to bring up results from both even though they are in separate top-level directories and I use separate instances of the Publisher service to manage them from Lightroom.
Perhaps there can be a setting in Backlight to exclude specific directories from the search? Perhaps a comma or space separated list of directories names to exclude? In my case it would be as simple as /clients.
True that currently the onus is on the user to hide albums, but users are human and humans make mistakes. On my current CE3 site I have roughly 50+ client albums sets with multiple albums in most. When I migrate them to my backlight site and add new galleries in the future I'm bound to miss the "Hide from search" option on one or two, no matter how careful I try to be.
It would be nice to have a failsafe like this so it doesn't impact our client relationships. Some clients photos are very sensitive and having them revealed accidentally to the public could be disastrous for both parties.
Increased both post_max_size and upload_max_filesize via php.ini, maxed out the Photos for Purchase width and height settings in Backlight (9999px each). Republished from Lightroom. No error. Will keep an eye on it and report back if trouble arises again.
Thanks all.
Looks like that's it. I'll see if I can increase that later today and will try again. It's Bluehost so maybe you can direct me to where the setting can be changed?
I thought I remember reading somewhere about an "add all" option for cart. Does that portion exist?
Is there functionality for this in Backlight? Perhaps with the Cart or Client Response Add Ons?
Maybe even an option to add all images to the cart as digital downloads and rely on the normal functionality from there?
Is there no way to set an unlimited number of downloads or infinite download expiry? With the exception of some special events once my client has paid for their session / photos they get access to them, for life.
The likelihood that they will ever exceed 10 downloads on a single image or need to download their photos over a year later is low, but it has happened in the past (breaking the 1 year threshold) and I would rather avoid questions like "Why can I only download the photo X times?" or "Why do my downloads expire?"
I have traced the problem to the Photos for Purchase width and height setting under Add-Ons > Cart in the Design Template. My assumption was that the width and height would be maximum values for the photos, but it seems that, perhaps, if the original photo is under those dimensions you will get that error as it cannot be exported at that size.
For example, if I have both width set to 5472 and height set to 3648 (the width and height of my source photo) it works. However if I set the height to 4000 it fails with the message above. I tried setting it to one pixel over the source height (3649) and it still worked so maybe there is some kind of threshold / cache behaviour there.
So... what is the expected behaviour in this situation and how are the width and height settings designed to work? I dug through the doc a bit but couldn't find a reference to those settings specifically and there is not info (?) tool-tip available in the Backlight interface.
At this point I don't mind blowing away the Cart config and starting fresh, since I'm just starting and experimenting, but if there is a proper fix to help other's who get into this situations I'm happy to try it.
Funny you should ask. Just tried during some more troubleshooting and even when leaving it as 'default' for a brand new album I get the same error.
At some point during my setup I did change the Cart ID setting under Cart > Settings > List Settings > Miscellaneous (mistook it for something else) but have since changed it back to it's original value of ttg_cart_01 and there is no difference. Same error. It was already changed back to the original value when I tried the new album with the default pricing scheme.
I am attempting to setup a cart for a gallery and I am running into errors.
Initially when I published the gallery (or part of it) using 'default' under Edit Album > Integration > Cart Pricing Profile in Lightroom it published ok. Once I switched to my own pricing profile I started getting the error below. It's not clear what is setup wrong in the pricing profile. It looks good in Backlight (i.e. has status of 'complete'). I tried creating a new album and setting the desired pricing profile from the get-go, but same error.
Can’t update this collection.

Any ideas what to look at to troubleshoot this?
True, that is a relatively simple way but requires a bunch of extra steps and means I have to re-export, re-create the .zip, and re-upload each time I update a photo in the gallery. Looking for something a little more automated.
The code I started putting together will zip everything in the photos-for-download with some checks ahead of time to see if the .zip already exists and if so whether photos-for-download has been modified since the last .zip was created.
I could try to find time to revisit that and see what is left to be coded / tested but thought I'd see if there was some existing functionality I missed or perhaps if CE4 brought a new feature for this (I'm still on CE3).
