I have an ongoing issue which I and multiple users and developers have been unable to resolve.  I gave up and did a reinstall with the intentions of starting all over.  The website I built in a temporary folder was fabulous as far as I was concerned.  It had all the features I wanted and needed.  I followed the recommended procedures to move it into the public folder from the temp folder but it did not work.  No one was able to help me.  I sought an outside developer who was not able to help and possibly confused the issue by working without communicating with me.
After doing a reinstall, I began to recreate from scratch the website I had built over 2 months of work.  I decided to try restoring my backup one more time. I copied and saved my newly created custom and data folders so that if this last effort did not work, I could return them to their places and continue rebuilding the site.  I then restored the custom and data folders from my original site in the hopes that my old site would reappear.  It did not.  However, with this attempt (probably the 5th attempt) I did get a new, previously not seen, message which has once again given me hope.  A paragraph of code appeared along with this message:

Something went wrong
Unexpected error: file_put_contents(../backlight/data/class_lookup.txt): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in ClassFinder.php on line 113

Please report error at http://community.theturninggate.net

I am now duly reporting this error in the hopes that someone may be able to determine what steps might help me restore all my previous work.  I have been without a website for 3 months now and it has effectively removed me from the market.  I would appreciate any help I can get.  If no one is willing or able to help, I will get back to the business of starting over.

Removing the pricing scheme from the album setup did not fix the problem.  I reset the cart and cleared the template cache in the process.....

#5 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Problems setting up cart » 2019-05-16 00:43:54

After reading over your last few responses, I am pondering what the implications of this statement are:
"Is this just a test album? because if you're placing the same pricing scheme in all images, you might as well just enter the pricing scheme in the pricing scheme field of the album set up."

I do have the pricing scheme entered in the pricing scheme field of the album setup.  Is it over-riding the pricing scheme entered in the metadata " Category" field?  I will try removing it from the album setup and see if that fixes the problem.  I will let you know how that works out.

#6 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Problems setting up cart » 2019-05-16 00:22:08

When I set up everything I used the routine you recommended.  I created a new template with cart add-on and the mixed pricing scheme ON.  Within the pricing scheme properties setup there is a place to select  the products to apply.  I chose only Glass Art and no packages.
Within the Pricing scheme  Manage pricing, there are only two fields, minimum order (I entered $25) and only one place to enter price (I entered $100 as a test).  I since have changed the price to $0, and after resetting the cart, it appears as $0.
My problem is this:
There does not appear to be any place to set individual prices for each item in the album.

#7 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Problems setting up cart » 2019-05-15 23:44:53

Never mind the connection problem.  I rebooted my modem and was able to establish connection.  Not your problem anyway.
I also found that after resetting the modem, I now have a cart visible.  I see that I will have to rename the files to correspond with  whatever I want the "Item Name" to be.
Final question:  How to assign individual prices.  There does not seem to be anywhere to do that either in BL2 or LRPub.

#8 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Problems setting up cart » 2019-05-15 23:17:15

I entered the "Glass Art Jewelry" pricing scheme with multiple pricing in the "Category" field in LR.  I created an album template "Glass Art single price" utilizing the cart add-on and created and album, "Glass Art Jewelry by Marina".  I still got the error message, "No items available..."
Still something missing?
A bigger problem has occurred.  I took a break after the above described fail and came back to work this morning.  For some reason, I cannot now connect to BL2 or to my website.  I: get this message:
This site can’t be reached The connection was reset.
Try:

Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
ERR_CONNECTION_RESET

I have good internet connection.  I have no proxies checked.  My firewall is turned off.  WTF happened?

#10 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Problems setting up cart » 2019-05-15 00:06:16

Reset cart worked great.  It is not documented anywhere I looked.  Thanks for your help.
On to problem 2
I have LR 5.  It does not have a "Category" field in metadata.  Do you know if LR 6 has it or must I upgrade to LR CC?
Is there another way to set individual prices?  Here is the gallery I want to set up
http://denniskeyesphotography.com/backl … est/glass/
I used a pangolin album template, Glass Art as my product,  and Glass Art Jewelry as my pricing scheme.

#11 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Problems setting up cart » 2019-05-14 05:09:22

Thanks for the advice.  I think I followed you but I still have a problem with question #1.  I have not yet tried to solve #2.
  I created   6 products:
1) Aluminum Prints
2) Canvas Prints
3) Digital Download
4) Giclée Prints
5) Glass art  (will have separate price scheme)
6) Photographic Prints

I created several pricing schemes, most of which I will delete.  The one scheme which should work is All Print Products.   It includes Products 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 from above.  I assigned prices to all items and options.

I edited an album in LRPub utilizing a template I called Cart - Pangolin Album.  Under Integration I checked "Enable Cart", and entered "All Print Products" as the Cart Pricing Profile.
I marked all images to republish, just to be sure,  and I cleared the template cache.
When I go to the site and view the album the cart icon is visible but when I click the icon either on the thumbnail or on the large image, I get an unwelcome message.  "No products are available for purchase.  Please try again later or contact the photographer if this problem persists".  All of my previous efforts also resulted in this same message.  I am missing something somewhere???

I am having difficulties figuring out how to set up the cart.  I have essentially two questions
1) I wish to offer all photos in an album multiple ways:  as Digital downloads, as photographic prints, as giclée prints, as prints on canvas and on aluminum.  Can I assign multiple pricing schemes to the same product?
2) I wish to offer items I have photographed for other artists for sale in an album or as images uploaded to my img file which I created in the custom folder.  Which would be the best way to do this while being able to utilize the cart?  Each item will be priced individually and there are no multiples of any items.   Would it even be possible to utilize the cart for this application?

I created several albums using the Theater add-on.  Everything works fine except the videos have no thumbnail only an icon.  In setup in LRPub, there is a field for thumbnail, random or custom.  I chose custom, but there is no additional option to enter a custom file.  How do I make a custom thumbnail?

#15 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Theater Add-on setup problem » 2019-05-07 00:52:12

Ahhhhhh!  I had cleared the template cache many times.  I see that the problem was "Fit".  Thanks very much for your help!  I like it much better now.

#16 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Theater Add-on setup problem » 2019-05-06 23:09:13

I have already tried many different combinations of widths and ratios.  Nothing I have done makes any change in the appearance.

#17 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Theater Add-on setup problem » 2019-05-06 12:42:27

I do NOT want to present  the images larger.  I want to present them SMALLER so they do not appear pixelated due to being too large, which they do now and since I first used Theater.  There is plenty of width available for them at the enlarged size, as you noted: "page width is 1140px and the pallet width is 200px. That leaves about 900px to play with."
So there should be no problem with them fitting by making them smaller.  I had specified making them many different widths and have now landed on 500 pixels wide which is where you saw them, but no matter what size I specify, they always look the same - TOO LARGE.
I have already tried changing the aspect ratio to 1/1.  I tried many different aspect ratios.  Nothing I have tried changes the size of the images at all.
Reinstalling Theater did correct the timing.  I was able to make the slide duration faster, which is what I wanted.  But the size remains a problem.  If I give you admin login do you think you can solve this?

your "Vegas In-line" template is set to create images that are 500px x 500px. The images are already larger than this. (600 x 536px).
I tried multiple sizes from 250 to 1,000.  None made any difference.  Just happened to be 500 when you looked.

Your page template is set to two-columns, so the left portion of the page is actually a column with no content. This leaves less room for the slide show.
I thought that my vertical menu was occupying the left column.  It is set for the minimum width allowable.

If you change the template to make the images larger, then in Lightroom, select the images in the album, right click, and choose Mark to Republish.  I don't want the images larger.  I want them smaller to fit into the second column like the slide shows on all other pages.

Make sure that in the Lightroom Publisher settings that "Push metadata without updating existing photos" is not checked.  I will do this when I make my next attempt.

you might try a different aspect ratio in the template setting. right now it x=1 y=2, which will create a stage for the show that twice as tall as it is wide.  The default is 16/9, I think.  I tried many different combos including 1/1.  None of those changes made any difference.

I have been trying to make changes on the album template.  Should I make changes on the Home "Page", or create a new page template just for the Home page?

#19 Re: Backlight 2 Support » Theater Add-on setup problem » 2019-05-06 03:00:30

I have cleared template cache several times.  I reinstalled Theater.  Prior to reinstall, I was not able to speed up the slide show.  That now seems to work now.  But, I still can't  resize the images.  Still too large and pixelated and don't fit the available space.  There is no place within LRPub to resize the images so the publish button is not active.
I have resized several times within BL2 under, Design Album Template.  As I said above, the timing now works but not the sizing.

Should I delete the existing Theater module first?  And, if so, how?
I did get the vegas slide show presentation to work on my home page.  I created an album template for it:  "Vegas-in-line".  But, no matter what settings I change, the image is too large.  How do I reduce the size?  Will It still be available if I reinstall the Theater module?

I purchased and installed the Theater add-on.  Following the documentation....

In Backlight's menu, go Designer ⇒ Templates.
Scroll down to the Album Templates list, and click “Create New Template”.
Name the template, and for Type choose “Pangolin Theater”; click “Add”.
I named the template: "Theater-1"

I created a new album in Lightroom Publisher.....  I named it "Test Theater-1"
For Template, select the new Theater template you created during the above steps.
Click the Features tab; because our template is still a work-in-progress, we're going to hide it from view. Enable the “Hide from Album Set” and “Hide from Search” checkboxes; click “Create”.  (I did not hide it as my site is not live yet so only I can see it anyway)
Add images to the new album and publish.
Right-click the album in Publish Services and select “Go to Published Album” to visit the album online.

Back to designer to design the album template....

I chose the new template, which I had named:  Theater-1
I went to Photo Presentation Type.  Only two choices appear:  Slide show or Single-image pages.  I want to use juxtapose but it is not available.  Nor are any of the other presentation types.

I tried clearing the template cache but it did not make any difference.
What am I missing?

#22 Backlight 2 Support » Menu item link to page not working » 2019-04-28 00:15:33

For a time, all links from my menu were lost.  Ben Williams fixed that by repairing a php.index file.    I am back at work refining pages and building albums.  A new problem surfaced.  Early in the process I created a menu item: Services.  During the time that I was building the pages in the Services submenu and prior to the all links lost problem, clicking on that Services menu tab would take me to a Services page which I had created. But now, clicking that tab takes me to an Album Set Template for Galleries.  I can successfully change the links to other albums, album sets, or non-interactive, or when I go back to linking to any other page, it does successfully link to that page, EXCEPT, it links to the Album Set Template/ Galleries, instead of the Page /Services.
My test site is:
denniskeyesphotography.com/backlight-2-test/
I created a guest updater login for my BL2:
user name:  guest
password:  guestpassword

To fix the first problem described above, Ben needed deeper access and requested an administrator login.  I can provide that for you also if necessary.
