#1 Re: Backlight Support » Identity Plate » 2018-09-18 04:14:45

My Hover does't show anything.

Backlight > Designer > Templates

Backlight and Designer are blue and the templates are listed.  I have hovered over everything and nothing happens.

Moving over to Panolin Backlight 2.0.  I cannot find where Identity Plate now goes.  I see Advance Settings a favicon but can't find Image Upload anywhere in menus of Backlight

Ben

Thanks very much for your assistance.  I wish you had an updater to overcome my inabilities to follow even clear instructions.

No off to learn the new features.

The above message when attempted to go into site.

I just did a mass update for the new 1.2 by applying all updates one after the other and then attempted to get it up and running.  I went online to backlight and stepped into each of the menus to get the updates completed and the clear cache.

Going into my site the above message immediately appeared.

I am unable to edit templates.

I just received a hot-fix for the 1.2 release.

I have not yet applied the 1.2 release.

Can I just ignore the 1.2 and apply the 1.2.0 or should I apply first 1.2 and then 1.2.0?

#6 Re: Backlight Support » Upgrade to 1.0.3 Large image presentation gone » 2016-07-22 02:10:05

Found the problems.  All the appropriate files where not updated.  Thanks.

Maybe some guidance might help.  What is the best procedure to update using FileZilla.  I tend to line up the to sides and upload each directory and file.  I still seem to miss some.

I don't have large image presentation.  I tried ?reloadModel&skipCache at end but made no difference.

Looking for a little guidance on something I am attempting to do probably a little beyond the design intent of the current release or more likely beyond my current understanding.

First I have become quite pleased with Backlight - it's now become fun to use - a difficult learning experience.

Polyptych - http://ronwhitaker.ca/galleries/images/polyptych/

The three albums in this set is a series of images I wish to present 2 up, 3 up and 4 up.  By altering the number of columns I seem to have accomplished what I want.  Of course mobile will be more awkward or impossible.  In all cases the user must adjust the window size to accomplish what I want.

The 4-up seem to give me the most unexpected results.  It was only until I reduced the size of the screen that the images became 4-up in a single row.  A similar surprising thing is 2-up. When reducing the size the compensation adjusts until all of a sudden it goes 4-up.

The variables I altered where Thumbnail sizes. Style Classic worked best, Max/Min columns and column sizes.

Any suggestions to make it work better.

Thanks

#14 Re: Backlight Support » Custom Thumbnail Problem » 2016-05-31 01:04:08

Custom Thumbnail problem is due to the incorrect location of the custom thumbnail album.  This album must be at the top level under galleries and not at a lower level.

#15 Re: Backlight Support » Custom Thumbnail Problem » 2016-05-29 22:25:16

Thank you Ben.  This is the one thing still bothering me.  I think that there is some bad hosting as I get other problems as well.  My host gave me ronwhitaker.netfirms.ca  and my registered url is ronwhitaker.ca.  Then we use redirection.  This may cause some confusion.

But you are correct.  I did create a Galleries Album Set.  The reason was that by selecting this Album Set in Publisher and then hitting the Publish button all albums/album sets within the Publisher are reviewed and updated.  On hit update is good because I am all over the place in my fun/work.

The problem is the Image Thumbnails does not update the cover image with a custom thumbnail but does with a regular image selected.

I am going to change hosts and rebuild this is the only thing I am not sure of at the moment.  I could create an upper Album Set with a different name or no upper Album Set and then be required to Publish each individually.

Not sure we may be facing this issue again.

Please advise

Thanks

#16 Re: Backlight Support » Custom Thumbnail Problem » 2016-05-28 15:52:28

Yes the .htaccess was copied into public_html

One thing to note.  A complete reinstall of backlight was done by first deleting all files and recopying everything.

The lightroom plugin was not reinstalled but every set and album was deleted and all but one TTG Publisher deleted.  The remaining TTG Publisher's contents where deleted.

If Ben needs to look at this can you forward this to him? or do I need to recreate?

#17 Re: Backlight Support » Custom Thumbnail Problem » 2016-05-28 10:31:46

After install where the empty galleries was copied from install to website.  Then rest of install which included the creation of the first Album Set by the publisher called Galleries.

Incidentally you have my website and password from our last interaction if you kept your email.  If not I can resent the info to you.

#18 Re: Backlight Support » Custom Thumbnail Problem » 2016-05-28 09:48:23

This was an original install and creation of everything.  The install package has a galleries directory.  My first album set is called Galleries.

What about the cover images not working?

#19 Re: Backlight Support » Custom Thumbnail Problem » 2016-05-28 08:57:11

Yes - Edit Album Set - Cover Image

http://ronwhitaker.ca/galleries/galleries/ then select first galleries link
http://ronwhitaker.ca/galleries/

I also note the header image is gone in
http://ronwhitaker.ca/galleries/galleries/styles/

I don't understand how I got two levels of /galeries.  Nothing shows in the publisher plugin.  I never created it.

Setup As per instructions. But I've done something wrong.

The top Galleries shows the two Custom Thumbnail images in the custom thumbnail album but when selecting an image only the unknown white image with title appears.  When selecting a non custom image the image appears.

None of the other album sets shows any custom images to be selected.

The Custom Image Album does appear when logged in to Backlight and disappear when logged out.

#22 Re: Backlight Support » Cannot change or correct or remove Album set from home page » 2016-05-18 05:39:24

Yes.  The home page at the moment has not album or album sets inserted. It has in the past but has been since removed.  It will not go away.

Note that the about page and contact page look the same as the home page.

Looks like I didn't get the pages thingy somehow included even though I paid for it.  I could be missing the point here.

#23 Re: Backlight Support » Why does my about and contact page look like my home page? » 2016-05-18 04:52:34

I don't see Design anywhere.

I don't see Menu Sets anywhere.

When you do a Link to and choose about nothing happens.

When you do a Link to the only thing showing is about there is not contact.

#24 Re: Backlight Support » Why does my about and contact page look like my home page? » 2016-05-18 04:38:18

I don't see any about or contact directories in the directory structure.  Are they one the same level as galleries and backlight?
