Hello, I have updated to the latest versions, or so I thought. But though I unzipped and installed version Pages 709, it still shows version 708. Same with AutoIndex 704 shows 703 and Gallery 605B shows 605. Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?
Thanks in advance!

Hello, With all the changes and upgrades to CE4, I am setting up WAMP to get everything as I want it. All is going well, except I can't seem to get the PHP path to the custom CSS in plugins correct. I have tried http://localhost/phplugins/path.php. But my custom CSS is not recognized. Should it be http://localhost/phplugins/css/custom?  Is there an additional step to this I'm missing or do I just put the correct path under enable plugins just as I do the web server? Any help appreciated!

Is there anyway to have a separator type icon or font awesome icon between navigation links? Something like this:
HOME  .  VACATIONS  .  HOLIDAYS The period just represents where the icon would go, but centered top to bottom and left to right. Hope this request make sense! I do have php plugins set and working.
Thanks in advance!

#7 Re: General » Need guidance on best way to make the new CE4 versions updates. » 2014-07-29 23:10:35

Rod, I guess it is both. I'll need to update the engines and plugins in lightroom (I am assuming). Can do that. Then updates to publisher, templates  and ttg-be on the server side as well? Or am I making this more complicated than it is?
Thanks!

I would appreciate guidance on the best practice of updating the new versions as they come for CE4. CE4 TTG-BE, Publisher, Gallery, Pages and Autoindex are currently installed. Templates installed as well. The latest updates prior to today, I just deleted all and re-installed, but as I have published several autoindex pages and galleries now, not sure that is the best way. I seem to remember Matthew mentioning it somewhere, but can't locate it now. Can I replace just by dragging the new files into the old via FTP? Or will that cause additional problems?
Thanks in advance!

#9 Re: CE4 Pages » Center breadcrumbs? » 2014-07-29 07:41:02

Rod,
Thanks for the reply. Good information to know. That specific css worked as well!

#10 Re: CE4 Pages » Center breadcrumbs? » 2014-07-29 01:58:37

I tired this after posting! Seems to work. Added to custom css. Any reason it might case a problem on down the line? I just copied and pasted from inspecting the element.

.the-block,
.login {
    text-align: center;
    }
Thanks in advance!

#12 Re: CE4 Auto Index » Autoindex type » 2014-07-25 03:48:46

Thanks, I will give that a try as well.

#13 Re: CE4 Publisher » CE4 Publisher gallery problem » 2014-07-24 21:44:40

Thanks for all the suggestions. I have tried them all. In addition I tried totally deleting all and re-uploading templates and re-publishing galleries. Still the same problem. I have viewed with Google, IE and Safari, same problem all around. Site is jmacv.com. My links are autoindex. Goodies is the only one active. But there are 2 autoindex under that which lead to 1 gallery each. The galleries are where the problems are.

#14 Re: CE4 Auto Index » Autoindex type » 2014-07-24 21:37:03

Matt,
Thanks for the reply. I gave that a try, but trying to avoid custom thumbnails! Too many galleries to get uploaded!
Also on using descriptive, I seem to get this strange zone when screen size is adjusted where the title gets lost, I can't seem to get the ratio right! Any guidance appreciated. My site is jmacv.com. You will see another problem I am having, but that is posted elsewhere as well. "Goodies" is the only link that is active.

Updating from CE3 to CE4. Most changes I really like. Still learning. But my first big problem is when publishing a gallery via publisher my gallery shows up with a top layer of thumbnails sitting over  the bottom layer of thumbnails. The bottom layer being the design and layout for the template. The top layer is the same set of photos but smaller with no cell border. I went back and cleared the photos when designing the template and re-uploaded the new template. No change. Any help appreciated!
I was successful with CE3 in publishing album sets and albums.
Thanks!

Making the change to CE4. In CE3 my autoindex page used "[redacted]" and the number of columns was not limited to 4. In CE4 iconic is the closest but limited to 4 and unable to scale down the cell around the thumbnail. Any work around to make this more like CE3 [redacted]? Album title is the only needed description.
Thanks in advance!

#17 Re: General » Nav menu customization question » 2014-07-02 04:09:10

Rod,
Thanks so much! This did what I wanted it to do! I'm still learning but your guidance has been a great help. Just waiting for CS4 before I start adding galleries.

I would like to make certain changes to the collapsed menu without changing the non collapsed menu. I have plugins setup and able to customize the css. Currently I am making changes under pnav a, pnav a:hover, etc. I am using natural for the collapse. I have tried several options as far as directing the css, but no success. Can anyone give me what I need to call up changes just on the collapsed menu?
Thanks in advance!

#20 Re: General » Any final recommendations on CE3 site? » 2014-06-01 01:48:02

Rod,
Thanks for the reply. As much as I would like to use php and css, I have no clue. I have enabled php and have the file, but would need a step by step to even try it!. Publisher was the main reason I purchased the package, but I have not been successful in getting it set up. Keep getting error messages. I have checked my host for php version and it appears to be current at 5.4. So out of frustration at my lack of knowledge, I have proceeded as described. I was able to use the shared engines trick!
Thanks again for your prompt replies!

Thanks to all the information found here and a some specific questions answered by Rod, I think my personal site is ready. But just a few questions regarding future updates. I am using Pages only for a home page. Autoindex is used for the additional pages, which are gallery pages. Gallery is used for the final galleries which reside in the autoindex pages. I am not using Publisher for several reasons. Any suggestions to make this easier to update if needed would be appreciated. I am not using php or custom css, I'm just not knowledgeable enough! Should I use "shared resources"? Also is there a way to use only autoindex and gallery, without pages?
Thanks in advance!

Rod,
Thanks for the reply! Custom css is something I've never attempted, but I'll give it a try!

Any guidance here appreciated! My site is super simple. I do not have any block content. In short I would like the collapsed navigation icon center of my page, not left and center. So anyway to eliminate the block content space from the navigation menu when collapsed? Or to center it below the main menu navigation not to the right of it?
Thanks!
