Animated jpegs ?

A long, long time ago, in a TTG product far away, there was an album type that made it possible to load up a bunch of jpegs and have them show very quickly after each other like a movie, but at the same time you could steer the 'playback head' by dragging with the mouse.
I used it to make animations like this one : http://frozentime.se/spin/bts_show

Is there any way of doing that in Backlight ?

Re: Animated jpegs ?

not directly. But you may be able to insert such a thing using the PYM embed feature of Theater.

I think the feature you’re thinking of was from CE4 Stage and is called Reel Animate.

If you still have that, could create presentations without a header or footer and try embedding into a Backlight 3 site using PYM embed.

Re: Animated jpegs ?

Right, reel-animate it was. I still have it, but the PYM stuff looked a bit hairy. Might have a look at it some dark winters day.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Re: Animated jpegs ?

Wow. I didn't keep up with Reel because I didn't think anyone was actually using it. If I were to resurrect this, how much use would you actually have for it?
