I am loving the BL3 Update and the new Hero image. Thank You!
However How to I get an image in the Hero "Box" on the Search Page? I created a separate Album Template with one image and directed in the Admin/Search to use this as the template. Cleared Template Cache, etc. Still no luck.

Thanks in advance...

Hi David, I don't think there's a way to. Hero images draw an image from your album, and the Search is not an album. Matt should be able to confirm that. Which image/s would you want to use as the Hero for Search?

Ben, Thanks for the response.
So on my Search Page (and I do not have an actual page for Search) at
https://davidollilaphoto.com/backlight/search/
Image selected just for test is:dmo-19840215-CA-Palo-Alto-Sunset-Oaks-0001-01.tif
there is a "Hero" black box and it reads "Search Results"
Prior to the BL3 "Hero" update the black box did not exist on the Search. Maybe I need to create a separate search page?
Do I have something configured wrong? Please advise.
Thanks, David O

to remove that black area where the Hero image would go, create a new album template (or clone the existing one) and disable the Hero image in the template.
Assign this new template to the search page.

We'll look at automatically disabling the hero image when a template is used for Search.

Thanks for the response Rod and Ben.
I will create another template for the search and remove the Hero. However I like the Hero header on the Search page.
Any chance this could be enabled for the Search page, and I would like to see it on the Album Set also.
Just a thought.
Thanks as always for the love and support...

Hi David, which image would you want to show up as the Hero in a search result?

Ben,
I was actually looking to have it a permanent dedicated image in the hero box. It does not sound like that's feasible at this time. And that's OK. I will just carry on.
Thanks,

hmmm...wonder if that can already be done with phplugins...
....or maybe simply add it to the Search intro text via html

Not what you are looking for, but I have put in a fix in our working code to stop the Hero section from displaying when a cover image is not set. With the current behaviour, that means it will be disabled entirely in Search.

Hi DavidOllila,
I put a "hero image" in my search page from Backlight 2.
Here is the html code that I use at the top of my search bar, you must enter this code in:
Backlight-> Languages-> US English-> Manage Language: Publisher and Search Intro (md)
You can see the result on this page:
https://phototheque.nicolaslogerot.com/ … /?q=Italie
HTML code:
<div class="hero-image">
<div class="hero-text">
<h1 style="font-size:45px"><span class="fas fa-binoculars"> </span>Images search</h1>
</div>
</div>
Then the CSS (which you can modify according to the appearance of your website):
/*Display text on image in search module
================================================================*/
.hero-image {
background-image: url("https://yourwebsite.com//backlight/designer/page/image/17");
width: 110%;
margin-left: -10px;
margin-top: -20px;
height: 250px;
background-position: center;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-size: cover;
position: relative;
}
.hero-text {
text-align: center;
position: absolute;
top: 50%;
left: 50%;
transform: translate(-50%, -50%);
color: white;
letter-spacing: 0.25rem;
font-weight: 700;
text-transform: uppercase;
text-rendering: optimizeLegibility;
}
