Having troubles changing SEARCH page

I'm upgrading the look of the site.  I have new pages, album sets, albums.  I have done the Template Assign to a new page but it still shows the old Search page.

Same pwd as before

Re: Having troubles changing SEARCH page

Did you reassign the Search page template in Backlight Settings under Publisher: Search Template?
clear template and browser cache?

Re: Having troubles changing SEARCH page

Don't see an assign template under Publisher, only under Design.  Publisher only has top level galleries.
And I did Design > Templates> Assign Template > Assign Search

Re: Having troubles changing SEARCH page

It's not under Publisher. It's under Settings. Admin > Settings. Look for the Publisher section.
Although the Assign Templates page should do the same thing.

Re: Having troubles changing SEARCH page

Have you tried clearing template cache or clicking on the Update album files link?

Re: Having troubles changing SEARCH page

Yes, tried clearing template cache, didn't do anything.
Both Admin>Settings>Search  and Design>Templates>Assign Templates show the same album and it is the old album, not the one shown in both places.

I have cleared cache, logged out and back in

Re: Having troubles changing SEARCH page

Sorry for the confusion in the above.
Both locations show the same new album template.
What is displayed is the old template.

Re: Having troubles changing SEARCH page

I've tried to cleanup my templates,
Not sure what the old one, I just updated to the new one and am not sure what the old one was.  After the cleanup I get this error

Unable to find template with id 12. Try updating the selected template for the application. in EngineFactory.php on line 67

All the ones I deleted showed as having 0  0 for albums and pages

Re: Having troubles changing SEARCH page

That seems to be a good error to have. Can you assign a current album template to the Search page?

Try creating a brand new Pangolin Album template and name it Search page. Then see if you can assign it to the Search page.

If you still have the Okapi modules installed, when you go to create a new album template you'll likely see Okapi Album as the first choice, so don't choose that one.

Yes to all of the usual things, and multiple times too.   It seems as though maybe the DB is corrupted.   Have no idea where to go next

go ahead and log in, same pwd as last time
PatrickLynchPhotography.com

also if there is something on the backlight side I have to do for maps would appreciate that as well.

Re: Having troubles changing SEARCH page

I think Ben is going to gave to take a look. I can’t find the problem

by the way, the mobile menu button is the same color as the page background, so essentially invisible.

Re: Having troubles changing SEARCH page

Hi Patrick, I can see what looks to be the problem - some settings remain in the Publisher database that should only exist in the Admin database as of Backlight 2.  That means that the value you're saving for the template will be ignored with the old settings taking precedence.  I can remove these old settings for you if you like.  Let me know.

What has been your upgrade path for this site?  e.g. BL1 to BL2 and then Bl2 to BL3?  This issue of old settings shouldn't be happening any more.

Re: Having troubles changing SEARCH page

Thanks Ben,

I've been with TTG for a while, before CE, I've upgrade through all of the CEs and BL 1-3.

Yes, please clean it up.  I greatly appreciate that.

Best regards,
Patrick :-)

Re: Having troubles changing SEARCH page

Thanks, Patrick.  I've cleaned up the Publisher database.  Can you see whether changing the search template now works correctly?
Let me know here if there are any further issues when working with the Publisher.

Re: Having troubles changing SEARCH page

Which search page is it showing and which do you want to change it to? I’ll have a go in your admin and see what I can find.

Re: Having troubles changing SEARCH page

Hi Patrick, it already is using that template, and it's appearing to me as a light background that matches the rest of your site.  Perhaps logging out of admin will let you see the correct template in that browser?

FYI, I determined the template/s being used by looking at the Search page source and reading the <body> class attributes:

<body class="pangolin type-album template-id-48 album-template-id-68 cart-unready crg-unready" data-layout="1col right">

48 corresponds to the page template "PJL LT1" an 68 to the page template "PJL LT1 Galleria Search"

I notice though that the search field doesn't render properly in that template.  I don't know whether that's because of any incompatibly with using Galleria as a search template or not.
