I went through the installation process, which completed correctly, but when I clicked on the login button nothing came up on the browser window but "Backlight is not yet configured. Please login to Backlight to continue." When I click on the link, it does the same thing. The URL shows roberts-imaging.com/backlight/backlight.

there should not be two backlight folders.
Did you install backlight in another folder named backlight?
is this a new install or an upgrade install?

I followed the instructions on the website. Should I try to delete the entire directory and do a clean install? I did get an error regarding the designer module, but it said the installation was successful.

I tried deleting the Data directory that the instructions described, and there is no Custom directory. When attempting to delete, I got this message:

If you're updating from Backlight 2 then you were following the wrong instructions.
Do not delete the data folder that's already on the server. That way lies madness and the destruction of your site.
Please take a look at the Upgrade instructions. Here's the direct link to installing updates: https://backlight.me/docs/installation# … nd-updates

I don't have any galleries or anything else in there, because, though I purchased Backlight and Backlight 2, I never utilized them. I have no hesitation with trying to delete the entire directory and start from scratch. :-)

that’s probably a good idea

I renamed the directory and hid it away in another folder. After that, I ran the version 3 installer and am into the setup. Thanks for your patience.!
