Updated versions?

I've just downloaded the new versions.  Do you recommend replacing *all* of the modules of the Web Bundle?

thanks,
ER

Re: Updated versions?

When will CE3 Cart be available?  I have purchased the CE3 modules but am waiting for Cart before replacing my CE2 plug-ins.
Thanks

you only need to replace the new versions: Pages, Autoindex, Gallery

Matt says the cart will be available this later this year (according to the Wiki, mid-to late-2013). No specifics though.

If you're using Publisher it will be easy to update your CE2 galleries once CE3 Cart is available.

Re: Updated versions?

Hi Rod

Thanks for the update.  I'll wait patiently (!!!).  I bought CE3 Publisher... I did not have CE2 Publisher, so I assume that I'll need to wait to use Publisher till CE3 Cart is ready.

Re: Updated versions?

you can use CE3 Publisher with CE2 Highslide, CE2 Horizon, or CE2 CRG. CE2 Highslide and CE2 Horizon are compatible with CE2 cart. So you really have no restrictions to using the Cart with Publisher managed CE2 galleries right now.

Re: Updated versions?

Hi Rod
Great!  So I'll wait to install CE3 Highslide, Pages, etc but will install CE3 Publisher... sounds like that will simplify my site uploads greatly.
Thanks

Re: Updated versions?

Might as well install the CE3 versions of Pages and Highslide too. Couldn't hurt to get a jump start on using them, and integrating CE2 galleries with CE3 Pages is not a problem if you want to go online with Pages.

Re: Updated versions?

Rod

I'm testing CE2 Cart (in test mode right now) using the rest of the CE2 modules... will the other CE3 modules mess up my testing?

Re: Updated versions?

Define "mess up" ...

Having the CE3 plugins installed in Lightroom will cause you no problems.

Online, it's important to note that CE3 plugins do not support "cart listening" for the CE2 cart, so if users have items in their cart, the cart widget will not follow them onto any CE3-made pages.

So you can totally mix CE2 galleries + cart with CE3 Pages, Auto Index, etc. But you need to keep the above "cart listening" issue in mind. That may or may not be a deal-breaker for you in setting up your website with CE3; that's a personal decision for you to make.

Re: Updated versions?

I've received the page for the Bundle downloads.

1. There are about 4 zips with CE2 listed and a bunch with CE3 listed... what do I click to install the C3 bundle? And why are there both versions?

2. If I install CE3 pages to replace the CE2 pages at the top of my gallery, will the existing CE2 autoindices and galleries continue to work as I gradually replace the CE2 autoindices and CE2 galleries with CE3 modules. OR do I have to convert everything to CE3 at one time.

Re: Updated versions?

We provide both primarily because we have not yet released a CE3 version shopping cart, and so our cart users must continue to use the CE2 version plugins.

Existing CE2 indexes and galleries will continue to work with CE3.

Re: Updated versions?

Each time I click on one of the downloaded CE3 plugins, I see a dialog that says "Please upgrade the catalog file 'Lightroom Catalog' for use with Lightroom 3."

Problem is I am using Lightroom 4.x and don't know what this message means.

Re: Updated versions?

I assure you, that's not a message I've coded into the plugins. Where are you seeing the message? Can you screenshot it? Also, please consult the installation instructions to verify you've installed everything in the proper way.
