I have created a Bootstrap main page that references Backlight 1 image galleries along with several other pages. I'd like to use the same top menu for all. I'd like to either
A: have the Bootstrap menu show up in Backlight galleries
B: show the Backlight galleries in Bootstrap pages
What is the best approach?
Thanks!

the easiest thing to do is create a menu set with the same navigation as the rest of the site and assign that menu set to the page template that's assigned to your album template.
But if you need to, you can use phplugins to replace the native Backlight menu with one of your own coding. Use the ttg_navigation hook

OK thanks, Rod. Where would be a good resource to figure out how to do that?

For the first option, just create a new menu set in Designer > Menu Sets and assign the new menu set to the page template your albums are using.
for phplugins:
there's are samples in the phplugins files themselves. One of the samples is using the ttg_navigation hook to replace the Backlight menu.
Look in the phplugins-pangolin-sample.php if you're using Pangolin templates and phplugins-okapi-sample.php if you're using Okapi templates
these files are in your download in the backlight/custom/phplugins/ folder
And here's the documentation on how to enable phplugins:
