The Backlight documentation indicates that Backlight should be installed in the home directory (usually public_html) and that the location of the installed files is host-specific. Would it be possible to install Backlight in a subdomain that has a dedicated domain URL?
public_html

Hi, that should work well. Extract the files from the installer zip into the directory public_html/mysubdomain.com
The 'backlight' directory is one that's already part of the file structure from the zipped files.

I’ve done this a couple of times.
Make sure you enter the dedicated domain url in the Site and Company url fields
