I am getting this message on all my local sites
The module was not installed: Class not found: ZipArchive. To fix this, reinstall Backlight at /backlight/installer
I have checked permissions and deleted sessions which used to fix update issues
Any ideas?

This may be a Catalina issue as this is the first update to Backlight since I upgraded.
There is some issue with permissions but changing them on core.zip did not fix the error. My Linus hosted site updated no problem.

ZipArchive is a module that should be available on your server. You’ll need to contact your host to get the zip module installed or enabled.
This is a server issue and not related to your desktop OS.

It is my local machine, my host servers are working ok. but for development purposes I localhost my three websites on my MacBook. it is that these three that have stopped updating since I upgraded my MacBook to Catalina.

Have you tried reinstalling your local host application to include the necessary module?
Ben might now how, if you can tell him which application you're using for the local host.

In that case then install or enable the PHP zip module on your machine

If you Google Catalina and 'Class not found: ZipArchive', you'll find that you are not the only one with this problem and there are many solutions out there.
