Method for updating Backlight2 site without lightroom as publisher?

Hi all,

Just wondering if there are some up-to-date docs or posts somewhere which explain what is needed to use Backlight2 without lightroom as th publisher.  I couldn't find a definative set of steps.

Cheers,
Chumby.

Re: Method for updating Backlight2 site without lightroom as publisher?

ok, thanks Rod.  Is the file to protect images from unathorised downloads in the cart folder?  (htaccess) ?
/public_html/backlight/modules/module-cart/application/skeleton

Also, if I wanted to watermark my images (not the thumbnails though) I would need to do that as a seperate process and ftp up?

Cheers,
Chumby

If you're not using Lightroom Publisher to create your albums, all sizing, jpg settings, watermarks, etc. are up to you, using whatever photo processor you're using.

My bad about the protection file. That’s in the photos-for-purchase folder for purchased downloads.

So the web based processor it not really a replacement for the Lightroom publisher.  Are there any guides available as to the directory structure needed when publishing and using the cart?

Cheers,
Mark

Publishing to Cart enabled albums uses the same process as publishing to regular albums.
The main difference between publishing from Lightroom and using the Backlight Publisher is that you first need to process/export from whatever editing/management program you’re using.
Are you having any specific problems?

It is here to provide a way for people to publish images that are not using Lightroom Classic. Like people that use Capture One, the On1 suite or any of the others out there.

Or what is now just called "Lightroom" for that matter ... not classic, but the cloud-based nonsense thing that doesn't support third-party extensions of any kind.
