Catastrophic Blacklight Failure

Backlight Version: 1 123-release 4
Cart Version: 415
Host: Bluehost

I can only view my homepage & contact page: http://www.michaelregan.co.uk
Can't view any of my galleries.
Can't login to backlight admin.

Get this error message with admin login & galleries:
"Something went wrong
count(): Parameter must be an array or an object that implements Countable in SimpleHTMLTag.php on line 44"

In addition I get this error when clicking on any of my gallery hyperlinks from my homepage main body of text:
"The shopping Cart is currently unavailable
Please contact the site owner for further assistance"

I have deleted & re-uploaded the module-cart - no change

I have made no changes to my website since April of this year.

I also have a sub domain website http://www.wildiesgentledmustangsandbur … option.com
on the same server which has no shopping cart.
This works & then doesn't.
I can't login in to backlight admin on this sub domain either, I get the same error message
"Something went wrong
count(): Parameter must be an array or an object that implements Countable in SimpleHTMLTag.php on line 44"

Re: Catastrophic Blacklight Failure

can you try disabling your cookie consent code and see what happens. I see that it's being applied before the <!doctype html> tag (which I believe should be the first thing in the page code.

Re: Catastrophic Blacklight Failure

Hi Rod

Deleted the cookie consent code.
Everything still doesn't work

Could this be a Bluehost issue where they have changed something that I'm not aware of?

Re: Catastrophic Blacklight Failure

might be they updated the php version without telling you. You can try logging into the Bluehost C-Panel and changing the php version. (I don't know the latest version of php that Backlight 1 is compatible with)

Re: Catastrophic Blacklight Failure

I haven't logged on to the C-Panel for a long time.
It has all changed, so I'm getting lost

In the MultiPHP Manager I found these settings

PHP 7.3 (ea-php73) is  the version set, with options to change to
PHP 7.2 (ea-php72)
PHP 7.1 (ea-php71)
PHP 7.0 (ea-php70)

I have no idea at all what version of php Backlight 1 runs on or what to change it to

Re: Catastrophic Blacklight Failure

I have Bluehost as well.
In C-Panel > Programming > PHP config I have choices from php 5.6 to php 7.3

my sites, including my Backlight 1 test site, are currently running php 7.0.3 without problem.

Re: Catastrophic Blacklight Failure

When I login to Bluehost I can't find C-Panel > Programming > PHP config

I login get Home Page > Advanced
which looks like C-Panel but doesn't have Programming > PHP config

Re: Catastrophic Blacklight Failure

When I log in there is a solid blue nav bar near the top. right below that is another nav bar. The cpanel link is in that nav bar. Scroll down the page to a section titled "programming." in there is the PHP Config link.

If you don't have that, then perhaps you have a different hosting package with them than I have. (When I log in, I don't see anything like MultiPHP Manager)

Regardless, can you try changing the php version to 7 and see if that works. Or call them and have them do it.

Re: Catastrophic Blacklight Failure

Anyway, please redownload backlight. Just use the link you have to get the latest version. Ben did some updates to fix PHP version issues.

Re: Catastrophic Blacklight Failure

Hi Daniel
I re-downloaded backlight, cart & theatre as they where all slightly older versions.
(I never got the emails for the new versions)
Got a email from Bluehost last night saying they had completely revamped the Bluehost interface.
Everything is working great now.
Thanks
