SSL question

I purchased the SSL Certificate from my host provider, GoDaddy, who installed it. I then followed Rod Barbee's instructions:

You first need a SSL certificate from your host. Once they install that, go to Backlight Settings and change the site (and company url if they’re the same) and the Wordpress url if using WordPress, so that they start with https:// rather than http://. Then, still in Settings, go to the Privacy section and redirect browsers to https

Everything seems to work. Now when I go to my website, the web address is https://sweetlightgallery.com/  and Google doesn't flag my site as unsecured.

Two questions:

1. GoDaddy has involved instructions for modifying my .htaccess file to automatically redirect your visitors to the HTTPS version of your website. I assume that I do not have to make these file modifications? I assume following Rod's instructions took care of this. Am I correct in my understanding?

2. GoDaddy has provided code that needs to be pasted into my site footer, which will display my SSL Certificate security seal. Where do I find the footer field where I can paste this code in my BL2 Administration settings?

Thanks for your help

Re: SSL question

1. you assume correctly. That's what the setting in Backlight does.

2. It's not in the Admin settings. You can try pasting it in the Copyright attribution field in your page template (in the Footer section) though it may be best to use phplugins to insert it. Probably the footer_bottom hook.
