New Panorama function on Theater

I’ve been working with the new Pano function to see how I might integrate it with my website and I think it works great - thanks.  But I do have two questions that have come up.

1.  I can’t seem to adjust the height so it fits on my iPad screen - it is just a little too tall.  I tried the presentation height setting, knocking it down to 320 px (the lowest it will go) and it does not seem to make any difference in the height.  Thoughts?

2.  I noticed on the caption for the image there is a pinkish background color - is there a way to change that so it matches the rest of my site?  Not sure where it is coming from because it’s not a color I have set anywhere on my site.

Thanks for the great updates - I look forward to using it once I work out the kinks.

Here is a test page I ran so you can see what I’m referring to.  https://terrancealexander.com/?page=ptest

Re: New Panorama function on Theater

for the background color, for now you can get rid of that with custom css:

.presentation-paver figcaption {
	background: none;
}

I'm able to change the panorama presentation height (under Panorama: Presentation Height) and see the change on my ipad. Have you tried clearing template cache?

Re: New Panorama function on Theater

Rod - thanks for the CSS.  I did try clearing the cache several times and no effect. I also went back in to republish the album thinking that may clear it and still no changes.

Re: New Panorama function on Theater

in your custom css there's a rule setting the .panorama height to 800px

that rule is a little messy too, it's constructed much like a media query: you have an img element inside the .panorama class

I also suggest changing the name of your custom css file to custom-6.css rather than custom 6.css. Spaces can mess things up at times.

Re: New Panorama function on Theater

Rod - after multiple tries and clearing the cache it now works - time to figure out integration to the site.  The extra code in my custom CSS was left over from when I was experimenting with other pano methods.  Forgot it was there. Thanks for your help.

Re: New Panorama function on Theater

I’ve played around with some of the adjustments and come up with a preliminary integration on my website.  If anyone is interested you can see it at: https://terrancealexander.com/?page=pano

I think it works pretty well - thank you Matt, Ben Rod and whoever else had a hand in getting it as an option for us.

Re: New Panorama function on Theater

Matt also screwed up and left the pink testing background on the captions. Sorry about that. Will have fixed for next patch or update.

Not a problem Matt - Rod’s CSS took care of it nicely!

Re: New Panorama function on Theater

Good morning,

I'm just desperately trying to get some panoramas on the test page Testsite Panorama

I can adjust the height via Presentation Height in the chapter Panorama.
But I don't manage to adjust the width yet. I guess I haven't found the corresponding setting yet.

Max-width for Presentation is 1140 px

A change under Image Renditions | Photos | Width has no effect.

BTW: What are the settings for thumbnails and photos for?

I am happy about tips

Best regards
Markus

The width restrictions come from your custom.css:

.the__gallery figure {
.....
    width: 240px;
}

Re: New Panorama function on Theater

Hi, Daniel,

you're right! Thanks!
I have the setting for my „dia" in the individual albums (eg https://www.mc-photografie.de/galleries … apo-testa/)

I have to create my own page template for the panoramas.

Now the only question is, what's the problem that the panaromas don't use the whole space of .the__gallery, who prevents that again?

And beyond that, if I can limit the size of the 3rd photo, so that the grey bar is not visible on the right side, because the panorama is too small

Many greetings
Markus

Re: New Panorama function on Theater

try making the image rendition size larger than the viewport size. All your image are 960px wide. Some of those images are about 400px tall, others about 300px tall. One is only 245px tall

The pano Presentation Height looks to be about 400px. This means that your  245px and 300px tall images are being stretched to 400px high (and are looking a little soft because of that).

If you want to keep the presentation height at 400 px. try changing the photo rendition size to something larger than 960 px wide. Try about 1600px
