I've started a new thread on this to keep things tidy
I noticed that the images on the slideshow on the front page are only 960 pixels wide, which makes them very small on my retina laptop.
I have changed the settings on the gallery template for the image renditions to be 2048x2048 as an extreme test, and it makes no difference. Is there another setting I need to change?
Rod suggested republishing from Lightroom, I marked all the photos to republished and published again and it did not work. It also seemed to republish very quickly, so I do not think new versions of the photos were uploaded.
Any other ideas?

Look at the Lightroom Publisher Settings. Make sure that “Push metadata without updating existing photos” or “Publish thumbnails...” are not checked

I thought we had it Rod, push data without updating was ticked and the export took much longer after I unticked it and marked them to republish but the images are still 960 pixels wide

Did you try clearing browser cache?
How about template cache?
can you post a link?
