Getting full size images on mobile

I use the masonry grid and slide show, but not real happy with how this is working on my iPhone 7. I think much of my complain is how Safari wants to keep it's upper and lower UI on the screen. Still, I wish there was a full screen mode on mobile.

I'd like a mode where I get the full image, scaled to fill the screen without cropping. It also has to support rotation.

I haven't used the Theater Add-on, but it didn't look to be a mobile only option. Maybe with a PHPPlugin I could get that to run only while on mobile?

Or maybe there's something else I can do. Ideally I would just hide all the Safari UI with full screen images, and act like slide show mode with swipe.

Any suggestions?

Re: Getting full size images on mobile

I have similar gripes with iOS Safari's UI.

Regardless of thumbnail layout, though, the default slideshow should give you as close to a full-screen viewing experience as can be had in iOS Safari.

I personally think the slideshow in pangolin-album gives the best mobile experience can be had in Backlight. I prefer it to the Theater or Galleria presentations.

Re: Getting full size images on mobile

This looks promising, but it's an iPhone technique. I'm an iPhone user, and don't have access to any Android phones.

Maybe this could be used as a PHPPlugin but it would be an iPhone only trick.

And this looks very promising: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/248 … fullscreen

I would swear there's cases where I've seen images go full screen mode in the iPhone, but I can't think of an example. It's a frustrating experience to always have Apple's UI taking over the top and bottom of the screen, especially in landscape mode.
