When I upgraded to Backlight 2, I had several templates disappear on me. All of them were based on the Theater module.
After restoring my original backlight 1, I exported these templates and re-did the conversion.
After that I tried to import a template and received an error message that it couldn't find "module-theater". I looked in the modules directory and noticed that the theater module is now named "pangolin-theater".
So I edited the template to reflect the new name, but received a slap on the hand when I tried to import it (cant edit exported templates, I guess...)
How can I get my templates back?
You can download the exported template HERE

NOTE: I did install the Theater module before I did the "Update Album Files".

The template you shared is Okapi based. You need to created a new Theater template that is based on the Pangolin engine.

I thought everything in Backlight 1 was supposed to convert to Backlight 2?
Now I have to revert back to Backlight 1 (again) to see how I designed all of my theater templates, then I have to re-install backlight 2 and create new templates.
Are you sure there isn't an easier way to do this?

I would wait until Matt chips in. In the meantime, you could setup a subdomain/subdirectory where you install BL1 so you could switch back and forth between the two.

OK, I have access to my old backlight info and will recreate the templates.

You can install the Okapi modules from the Backlight 2 Modules screen - at the bottom left. That should bring all of your Okapi based templates back into play.
That will bring back the standard album, album set and page modules, but not the Okapi versions of Theater or Wordpress.

I have the same issue. I just get the error message:
Something went wrong
Unable to find the module module-theater.
Have you removed this from backlight/designer/modules? If so, either copy the module back, or change the template used by this album. in EngineFactory.php on line 404
Please advise. There has to be a better way than de-installing the whole installation and starting again. It is really urgent that I have a working website.

You have the same Theater issue?
Do you have the Pangolin version of Theater installed?
If so, create a new album template using it and assign the template to all albums that need it.
If your site relies on Theater, then just getting templates made and applied should get things back up and running at least. Then you can fine tune the design.
If you don’t have Pangolin Theater yet, you can assign different album templates to any albums that were using Okapi Theater. That will get things running again until you get Pangolin Theater.

If you had Theater for Backlight 1, then the version for Backlight 2 is also a free upgrade using the discount code we sent you.
