I created a gallery ( or album) with 50 images per page. The slideshow only shows the photos on that page and doesn't continue to the photos on the next page. Doesn't seem to be appropriate. Comments?

That's the way it works. The slide show scripts can only run off of what's on the page, or some such technical explanation that Matt's addressed before.

Wished I knew that before it took a couple of hours uploading two albums.

Just noticed another aspect if this issue. In the LR web module, the Gallery template only permits a maximum of 250 images. In Publisher, it is possible to put everything on one page so that the slideshow will include all images.
The Gallery plug in should allow for the "all on one page option."

No, it really shouldn't. The publisher allows it, but users deserve whatever doom they incur by loading too many images into a single page. Web-browsers have their limits, especially mobile browsers as phones and tablets have far less memory than desktop machines.
