So far, I'm absolutely hating the new WordPress 5.0 editor.
Adding images with text is a nightmare and I seem to have no control over the image size in a Media and Text block.
Anybody else having success with this? Any tips other than installing the old editor (which I'm seriously thinking of doing)

I hadn't realized 5.0 was released. I'll add checking it out to my to-do list and get back to you with impressions when I've had time to form them.
Are you finding any issues specific to using the new editor with the Backlight 2 Theme?

It doesn’t seem to break anything but I’ve not tested it with the 2019 theme for comparison.

Gutenberg takes some getting used to. I'm not keen on the interface but that's probably more due to not being used to it.
Some features, like columns, seem like they need some work.
And some features feel hidden until you know how the thing works.
I keep wanting to yell at it to get off my lawn!!
WP101 has a pretty good Gutenberg introductory course that demos the features and some quirks. I'm about half-way through it and it's been helpful.
It's not a full fledged page builder by any means. There's no fine control over blocks like you have in a page builder like Beaver Builder.
For now, I'll probably stick to the classic editor for basic posts, like those using only one or two images, and use Beaver Builder for more complex layouts.

I have to say I am not taken with the editor yet. Perseverance required I suspect but then going from DOS version of Word to Windows then the ribbon all posed usability issues!
I expect this old dog will have to learn some new tricks.
