Is there any way to get notifications for updates to /backlight/admin/list_modules/?
An email or something along the line of https://ifttt.com/applets/193786p-websi … ifications would be cool.
Further, can PHPlugins hook into IFTTT? Are there any examples of this in use?

The best way is to follow http://theturninggate.net/blog/

Hmm... what action do you have in mind?

Yep, I already get the newsletter if that's what you mean.
I don't have any action in mind... Just spit-balling the idea that maybe we could hook something up to notify us of individual module updates (I'm looking at you, CRG).

Probably the best way to check if module updates are available is by visiting your Backlight Modules page. It's just a click away........

That's what I presently do (bookmark that page and visit it "to check in") but I really do love me some automation!

We typically post update to the blog when updates are available. You can get notifications via email when we post to the blog. I've just re-enabled the subscription sign-up in the blog's sidebar, at http://theturninggate.net

We've thought about notifying you when you log in, but that would cause a delay upon every login as your website would need to check for updates from our website. Depending on the host, that delay could be several seconds. To see what the delay would be like, click on Backlight > Backlight Modules. You should find that the page takes longer to load than other Backlight admin pages.

Makes sense, and I really don't mind the latency.
I found a small bug in the CRG feedback output, reported what I discovered, and awaited the update that would fix the problem (Client Response v8.0.1 (2018-11-05).
Alas- if it weren't for Rod giving me a friendly heads-up... it would be expected that I just keep checking in until the release came out? That doesn't seem very practical.
I really don't think you should have to publish a blog post for every little update, of course... but any kind of notification option would be preferred to perpetually checking in with /backlight/admin/list_modules/.
I've looked into IFTTT and a few other concepts that I thought might help, but couldn't find a third-party notification service that would work.

Daniel mentioned that as well, and although I am already subscribed... it wouldn't matter, since not all updates are posted. So presently the only course of action we can take is to just keep checking in.
Maybe an option to "receive all update notifications" could be offered in /backlight/admin/list_modules/ so that those of us who care about such things could opt in and those who don't care could opt out?

The modules page contains links to the ChangeLogs for the different modules. You should be able to use IFTTT on the pages these links are pointing to. Did you try that?

Aha! Monitor the changelog! I'll give it a shot.

Thanks for the suggestion, Daniel.
I've created a few wachete.com "watchets" to notify me of changelog updates.
Looks promising!
