I am slowly working through BL2. The interface is much clearer and bolder and having just run an update a vast improvement on previous ways of working.
I am trying to work out why tokens are not displaying though. This album,https://tomowens.openpoint.co.uk/galleries/phone/album/ uses a template that I call Galleria_token_grid, as do quite a few other albums. The tokens are not displaying in BL2.
I have checked the template and they are enabled and I have cleared the template cache and re-published the album after installing the new Lightroom publisher to no avail.
Am I missing a trick?
As always, grateful for pointers.
Regards,
TomO

Hi Tom.
Please check if there are any module updates pending. There was a minor update coming in last night:
Fixes issues with handling missing metadata on Backlight Publisher
This might fix what you are seeing.

I just tried updating modules and republishing a Galleria album. I'm not seeing metadata either

I updated all the modules earlier today for the fixes so good to know that you have replicated the bugette Rod. I do like the new interface though and I expected a few niggles. Still outstanding value for money.

Is that republishing from LR? Is this specific to Galleria?
Offline
yep, republishing from LR. Seems to be only Galleria. Vegas works fine as does a standard pangolin album

Hi Rod, thanks for that. I suspect then that this may not be related to the work done on the Backlight Publisher metadata handling, as anything broken there would affect all types of galleries. We'll look into this to see what may be going wrong.

I've been looking into the module itself, and I'm not seeing the problem yet. =/

Ben/Matt - I’ve been hitting the same snag for the last couple of hours. I’ve tried all the remedies already mentioed and still have no metadata showing up on galleria. It does work fine on both Vegas and standard albums - just Galleria seems to be at issue. Thanks for working through all these issues. I like the new BL2 interfaces - a lot more clarity on setting up the website!

Matt’s looking into it.

Matt and Rod, have either of you seen any issues with metadata and Galleria?
Offline
For me, the metadata isn't displaying in Galleria. I've only tried {Filename} and {Caption} so far.

Hi Rod, thanks for confirming.
I have found the problem and fixed it. The output of the metadata has become lost somewhere in all of the refactoring leading up to Backlight 2. Please update Galleria to version 2.0.1

Thanks Ben - metadata is working but I still have a glitch. Despite having the Title turned on and Caption turned off, they both show up on the webpage. I’ve tried everything I can think of from republishing images from LR to emptying cache to deleting the galleria template and starting over. If I turn off Title they both go away. If I turn on Title they both show up. Thoughts on what I might be doing wrong?

Hi Terry, that seems to be related to the earlier problem. It's missing an additional check. I'll look into this tomorrow.

Hi Ben,
I'm having a similar issue to what Terry is reporting with 2.0.1.
I have Title OFF, Captions ON. Tokens is set to {Caption}. Both are displaying on the page. I only want to see the Caption.

Thanks for fixing this Ben.
All working very nicely thanks. One thing I noticed though when I installed the update was that pangolin-page is showing available version of 2.0.1 in bold text bot there is no option to update or reinstall the module. I wondered if this was a bug as pangolin-galleria was emboldened with the option to update and once done lost the emboldening.

Hi Tom,
pangolin-page is part of the Backlight 2 package. In order to guarantee compatibility, only the entire package can be updated but not individual modules. There is an 'update all' link just underneath the Backlight 2 header on the left side. pangolin-galleria is an add-on so it can be updated individually.

I've done a little more experimenting with Galleria 2.0.1:
Display Image Titles OFF; Display Image Captions OFF -- Titles and Captions are NOT displayed
Display Image Titles OFF; Display Image Captions ON -- Titles and Captions are BOTH displayed
Display Image Titles ON; Display Image Captions OFF -- Titles and Captions are BOTH displayed
HOWEVER... Titles ALWAYS shows file name (with extension), even when field is blank or when other Tokens are used. For example, I enter {Caption} in the Title field and the file name (with extension) is displayed. In other words, Display Image Titles can't be turned off (except when Captions is also turned off), and when it is on, it always displays file name (with extension).
Ben... I hope this helps you find out what's going on.
Thank you.

Thanks Daniel. I've done that now. I was expecting to see something in the column where we see reinstall, so emboldened available version equals update available then.
Got to be the easiest updating mechanism in the life history of TTG. Keep it coming.
Thanks
