did you upload the .htaccess and index.php files from the root of the unzipped folder to the root of your site?

I uploaded both those files into the backlight folder and into the Public-html folder as well.

just to be sure, you uploaded the .htaccess and index.php file that was alongside the backlight/ folder to the root of your site?
And the .htaccess and index.php files that are inside the backlight/ folder have been uploaded inside the backlight/ folder on the server?
Did you log in and try visiting the various parts of Backlight? Designer, etc? Have you tried clearing template cache?
If your old site was using Okapi templates did you also install those from the Backlight Modules page?

Thanks Rob,
I had a full backup of my site and I just restored back to my Backlight 1 version and everything is back to pre-Backlight Install normal. Not sure what I did wrong but it did not work and I tried several time to do the install. Unless there is something I obviously did wrong, I think I will wait for all the "new dust" to settle. I have been following the comments here and it seems like there is a lot of repetition as to the install problems. I am in no rush. Thanks again for the quick reply.

Decided to do a clean install rather than trying to preserve my current site. Clean install went very smoothly. I like the new interface.

Cool. Glad that's working nicely for you, and that you like it. Sorry about the initial upgrade not working out.
