KEY WORDS

Hello. I'm fine tuning a Backlight website that I built, and staring another, and have the following question. I remember with CE3, etc we could input some keywords that would be on the blind header of the website, so those would be used to index the site by google, etc, and for people searching for it. Where does one input those keywords in Backlight?

Many thanks,

Alex

Re: KEY WORDS

Keywords in meta tags don’t really help SEO. What does help is working in keywords and phrases in your page content.
Captioning your images also helps.

Re: KEY WORDS

+1 for everything Rod said.

Meta keywords are no longer a factor because they were too easily exploitable, and frequently exploited. At this point, for example, we have company's starting to put "Blockchain" into their names -- whether they utilize blockchain technologies or not -- just to help them secure VC funding. And it's working! Apparently because VC funders are morons. So imagine if SEO were still so simple as embedding meta keywords, then we'd all be doing "Weddings, Photography, Blockchain" to boost our site traffic.

Ben, we should rename the business The Blockchain Gate, and maybe get some of that funding for ourselves ... =P

I think we'll be announcing the name change soon, along with the release announcements for Blocklight 2. Blockchain. Blockchain. Blockchain.

But seriously, Yoast is usually a good place to read up on current SEO standards, so do what they recommend. Also, blockchain.
