We use Backlight in conjunction with the Client Feedback plugin publishing from Lightroom. Is there any other way of publishing to Backlight than Lightroom? For instance Adobe Bridge?

Not yet. Matt has said that Backlight 2 will have more options for publishing. No date of arrival has been announced yet.
