I launched our new website last week and got some private input from alumni and others before announcing and publicizing it the past two day. The response has been overwhelming great! Thank you Backlight and the team ...
The old website was built on 90s technology back in the days of stupid phones and when tablets were made of stone (or Rx). I have been using The Turning Gate products since November of 2010 for our galleries. YIKES, that's well over eight years ago!
So, it was way past time to start from scratch. Our website is not your normal here-are-my-photos-take-a-look. Retired from commercial work, we have been running photo workshops for years. We have many different types of pages, to wit, in part:
Welcome and informational pages;
Contact page;
Galleries featuring the work of our participants, both photos and what we call "students in action";
Extensive reference pages of different types and categories;
A calendar page, of course, with links to all the workshops;
Workshop pages with pop-up windows for both more information and payment options;
An application that links to a thank-you page (hoping eventually to get to be a smaller pop-up page as on the workshop pages;
A shopping cart for the workshops, consulting, etc. with fairly complicated pricing structures;
Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures
I had been using another program until Adobe gobbled it up and eventually made it not work with my old site, so I had to start from scratch learning a new program after all these years and years.
It would not have been possible without the Forum here, in particular, Rod, Matt, Ben, and Daniel. Thank you all!
My philosophy has always been that if something is worth using, it is worth payment, and I was feeling guilty with all the free advice on the forum, so I made a donation to Rod at his TTG Tips and Tricks page. Then, I threw all caution to the winds and asked Rod if he would take me on as a paying customer. My time is always short, and running 15 (give or take between photo, Lightroom, and private) workshops a year left me with scant time to learn Backlight with the inherent lag time of any forum and implement it with plugins, css additions I didn't already have in my css, etc.
Rod was/is fabulous, and I feel I have made a friend. We share many interests besides photography and photo workshops, as well as the same, irreverent sense of humor!
For the record, Rod gave me permission to put this out. After all, if he is too busy, he can always say, "No."
So at least consider making a donation for all the extensive time Rod puts in making all our lives easier.
Take care,

Rod IS fabulous. Daniel and Ben as well. I'm just okay. ;-)
I'm super happy to hear you're receiving good response to the website, though. That's absolutely what we're going for in Backlight, and it's great to hear we're getting those results!

Matt and Daniel.
Thank you both so much. It was intensive, for sure, and as I noted above, it could not have been done without the help of you three. And Matt, you may be just okay, but you provided some critical elements!
Take care, and more thanks...
